Cliff Taylor (Australian Footballer)
Herbert Clifford "Cliff" Taylor (6 April 1914 – 22 November 1986) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He was also known as "Beau" Taylor. Family The third son of Henry Beaumont Taylor (1882-1954), and Millicent Ann Colvard Taylor (1882-1930), née Wilks, Herbert Clifford Taylor was born at Geelong, Victoria on 6 April 1914. He married Eileen Teresa Hedley (1916-2002) on 24 December 1940. He was the father of former Hawthorn player Noel Taylor, and the grandfather of Jason Taylor, who played for three AFL clubs. Football Geelong (VFL) Taylor, who arrived from Newtown in 1933, was a fullback in the Geelong second's 1937 premiership team. The New Norfolk District Football Club, nicknamed ''The Eagles'', is an Australian rules football club currently playing in the Southern Football League, in Tasmania, Australia. History Origins The club was founded in 1878 with the first premiership won in 1891 under the name "Derwent Football Club", which would last until the late 1890s. With the "New Norfolk" name the team won the Southern Country Championship in 1904, the Brown Trophy (1906), the Ellis Dean (1908–1909) and the Corumbene Trophy (1910, 1913). World War I ceased the club activity. In 1920 New Norfolk defeated Molesworth to win the Derwent Valley Football Association Premiership. Arthur Olliver
Arthur Olliver (10 December 1916 – 31 May 1988) was an Australian rules footballer in the (then) Victorian Football League (VFL), and coached successfully in the then Western Australian National Football League (WANFL). A champion Footscray ruckman over 16 years with the club, Olliver held the games record for the Bulldogs prior to Ted Whitten. In seven seasons as captain-coach Olliver got the Bulldogs into the finals three times, and saw them narrowly miss out twice. One of Footscray's longest serving players, Olliver played 272 VFL games and kicked 354 goals for the club. Olliver was appointed captain-coach of New Norfolk in Tasmania, where he stayed for three years. In 1951 he won his club's best and fairest award, and captain-coached the Tasmanian state team. Olliver's last involvement in top-level football was as non-playing coach of West Perth Football Club in the WANFL between 1960 and 1963. Albert Arthur "Titch" Edwards (20 August 1915 – 15 October 2002) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Edwards, nicknamed Titch, played originally at Laygols before he arrived at Fitzroy in 1936. His appearances were limited and only in 1938 was he a regular in the side.
