Cliff Eberhardt
Cliff Eberhardt (born January 7, 1954, in Berwyn, Pennsylvania) is an American folk singer-songwriter. He is a founding member of the Fast Folk Music Cooperative in New York City. Eberhardt joined Red House Records in 1997 and has recorded five albums for the label, the most recent in 2009, ''500 Miles: The Blue Rock Sessions''. In 2011, he released an acoustic album of Doors songs, ''All Wood and Doors'', with fellow musician James Lee Stanley on Beechwood Recordings. Also that year, he contributed a cover to ''Nod to Bob II'', a Red House compilation honoring Bob Dylan on his 70th birthday. Early life Eberhardt was born on January 7, 1954, in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. His family had a musical background, and he began playing guitar at an early age. Berwyn is a census-designated place (CDP) in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The population was 3,775 at the 2020 census. The area is part of the Philadelphia Main Line suburbs. History At times, the village has been called Cocheltown, Reeseville, Glassley, and Gaysville. The town received its present name in 1877 during the celebration of its centennial when one of the Welsh settlers proposed to name the village after the Berwyn Hills overlooking the Valley of the Dee River in Denbighshire, Wales. ''The High Above and the Down Below'' is the seventh studio album by contemporary folk singer–songwriter Cliff Eberhardt. It was released on Red House Records on April 10, 2007. It is Eberhardt's first album in five years and follows a lengthy recovery from serious injuries Eberhardt suffered in a 2002 auto accident. Recording The album was recorded live-in-studio and produced by Eric Peltoniemi. Only a few overdubs were added (mostly doubling Eberhardt's own slide guitar work to his own guitar playing).
