Cliff Brantley
Clifford "Cliff" Brantley (born April 12, 1968) is an American former professional baseball pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies in and . In 34 career big league games, he had a 4–8 record with a 4.25 earned run average (ERA). Brantley batted and threw right-handed. Brantley's father, Cleophas, was a star football player in Mississippi and New York Police Department officer and his mother, Margaret, was a star basketball player in North Carolina. Brantley starred in baseball and basketball at Port Richmond High School in Staten Island. He accepted an athletic scholarship to attend Michigan but chose to forego his commitment in favor of playing professional baseball. Brantley was drafted by the Phillies in the 2nd round of the 1986 Major League Baseball draft. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Wagner Seahawks Baseball
The Wagner Seahawks baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Wagner College in Staten Island, New York, United States. The team has been a member of the Northeast Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I, since 1987. Wagner College's first baseball team was first fielded in 1945. The Seahawks are coached by Craig Noto. The Seahawks have won one Northeast Conference baseball tournament and one Northeast Conference regular season championship, in 2000 and 2009 respectively.
