Cliff Baldwin
Clifford William "Kip" Baldwin (September 22, 1899 – January 25, 1979) was an American football back who played two seasons in the American Professional Football Association (AFPA), now known as the National Football League (NFL), with the Muncie Flyers. Early years Baldwin was born in Muncie, Indiana. His football career began no later than 1915 when he played for the Congerville Eagles. In October 1915, he was shot in the leg or heel by a police officer after jumping from a freight train while returning from a football game in Union City, Indiana. Baldwin subsequently sued the officer, claiming that he had sustained permanent injury as a result of the shooting. NFL career Baldwin continued to play football despite his injury. When the National Football League (NFL) was formed in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (APFA), Muncie was one of the charter members. Clifford Trent Robinson (born March 13, 1960) is an American former professional basketball player. Professional career A University of Southern California alumnus, Robinson was drafted into the National Basketball Association by New Jersey Nets in 1979 with the 11th overall pick in the 1979 NBA draft. Cliff was the youngest player in the NBA two years running. He gave the Nets a solid rookie season, averaging 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. His 45 points against Detroit on March 9, 1980 are the most ever scored in an NBA game by a teenager. On June 8, 1981, Robinson was traded to Kansas City for Otis Birdsong. Robinson would average a career best 20.2 points in 38 games for the Kings, before being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cliff Pritchard (1881–1954) was a Welsh international centre who played club rugby for Newport RFC and Pontypool RFC. Pritchard was capped on five occasions and scored two tries for his country. He is best known as one of the Welsh squad that beat the 1905 touring All Blacks in the '' Match of the Century''. Cliff Anthony Politte /pɒˈliːt/ (born February 27, 1974) is an American former professional baseball (right-handed) relief pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for four big league teams. Clifford Isaac Morgan, (7 April 1930 – 29 August 2013) was a Welsh rugby union player who played for Cardiff RFC and earned 29 caps for Wales between 1951 and 1958. After his playing career ended, Morgan made a successful career in broadcasting, both as a commentator and presenter and also as a programme-maker and BBC executive. Clifford Valmore Olander (born April 15, 1955) is a former American football quarterback who played three seasons with the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Chargers in the fifth round of the 1977 NFL Draft. He played college football at New Mexico State University. Clifford Charles Devlin Thorburn (born 16 January 1948) is a Canadian retired professional snooker player. Nicknamed "The Grinder" because of his slow, determined style of play, he won the World Snooker Championship in 1980, defeating Alex Higgins 18–16 in the final to become the first world champion in snooker's modern era from outside the United Kingdom. He remains the sport's only world champion from the Americas. He was runner-up in two other world championships, losing 21–25 to John Spencer in the 1977 final and 6–18 to Steve Davis in the 1983 final. George Clifford "Cliff" Fletcher (born August 16, 1935) is a National Hockey League executive and is a former general manager of the Atlanta Flames/Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Phoenix Coyotes. He is currently a senior advisor to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Some of his nicknames are the "Silver Fox" and "Trader Cliff".
