Cleveland Street Post Office
The Cleveland Street United States Post Office, or simply Cleveland Street Post Office, is a historic site in Clearwater, Florida. It is located at 650 Cleveland Street. It was dedicated on October 9, 1933. It was built by the Walt and Sinclair construction firm in a Mediterranean-Revival architecture style. On August 7, 1980, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Clearwater is a city located in Pinellas County, Florida, United States, northwest of Tampa and St. Petersburg. To the west of Clearwater lies the Gulf of Mexico and to the southeast lies Tampa Bay. Mediterranean-Revival Architecture
Mediterranean Revival is an architectural style introduced in the United States, Canada, and certain other countries in the 19th century. It incorporated references from Spanish Renaissance, Spanish Colonial, Italian Renaissance, French Colonial, Beaux-Arts, Moorish architecture, and Venetian Gothic architecture. Peaking in popularity during the 1920s and 1930s, the movement drew heavily on the style of palaces and seaside villas and applied them to the rapidly expanding coastal resorts of Florida and California. Structures are typically based on a rectangular floor plan, and feature massive, symmetrical primary façades.
