The Cleveland Centre, is a shopping centre in the town of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It is owned by Middlesbrough Council, previous Waypoint New Frontier until 2022. It was renamed The Mall (after its previous owner The Mall Fund) in 2011 but reverted to the original name the following year. Middlesbrough Council
Middlesbrough Council, formerly known as Middlesbrough Borough Council, is a unitary authority based in Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire, England. The authority has combined some duties with its nearby councils to form the Tees Valley Combined Authority. The borough is often considered to be larger than current borough boundaries, with a total built-up population of 174,700. It is in the statistical region of North East England. The council's borough had a resident population in 2001 of 134,855. A 2006 mid-year estimate suggests the Borough to have a population of 138,400. Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough ( ) is a town on the southern bank of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, England. It is near the North York Moors national park. It is the namesake and main town of its local borough council area. Until the early 1800s, the area was rural farming land. By 1830, a new industrial town and port started to be developed, driven by the coal and later ironworks. Steel production and ship building began in the late 1800s, remaining associated with the town until post-industrial decline occurred in the late twentieth century. The Mall Fund
The Mall Fund owns and operates shopping centres in England using the trading name "The Mall Company". The shopping centres are usually branded and marketed as "the mall". The Mall Fund owned up to 10% of the covered retail space in the United Kingdom, making it the largest portfolio of branded shopping centres in the United Kingdom, before some of its sites were sold off. The Fund is managed by a team of 62 from Capital & Regional's Mall Corporation. The Fund was formed in March 2002, by Capital & Regional and Aviva Investors. Middlesbrough Railway Station
Middlesbrough is a railway station on the Durham Coast Line, Esk Valley Line and Tees Valley Line. The station serves the town of Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by TransPennine Express. According to the Office of Rail and Road statistics, Middlesbrough railway station is the fourth busiest in the North East region, with 1,210,906 total entries and exits (2021–22 period). Middlesbrough Bus Station serves the town of Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire, England. It is located around from the town's railway station. History It was opened in 1982, at a cost of £5.3 million, by the actress Pat Phoenix. It stands partly on the site of the previous bus station, which belonged to United Automobile Services. From mid-July 2012, the bus station was partially closed for around six weeks, to allow for improvement work to take place – at a cost of around £1.5 million. Work was carried out in order to improve accessibility for disabled people, by creating low floor access at the majority of stops.
