Clemson Tigers Football
The Clemson Tigers are the American football team at Clemson University. The Tigers compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). In recent years, the Tigers have been ranked among the most elite college football programs in the United States. Formed in 1896, the program has over 750 wins and three consensus national championships in the modern era. Clemson was a College Football Playoff finalist in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019, winning the championship game over Alabama in 2016 and 2018. Graham Neff
Graham Neff (born 1983) is the athletics director at Clemson University. He previously served as Clemson's deputy athletics director from 2014 to 2021 and associate athletic director of finance and facilities in 2013. Prior to that, Neff served in senior administrative roles specializing in finance, facilities and external operations at Middle Tennessee State University from 2011 to 2012. Neff received his B.S. and M.B.A at Georgia Tech before embarking on his administrative career. The Georgia Bulldogs football program represents the University of Georgia in the sport of American football. The Bulldogs compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Clemson University () is a public land-grant research university in Clemson, South Carolina. Founded in 1889, Clemson is the second-largest university in the student population in South Carolina. American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. Clemson University Tiger Band
The Clemson University Tiger Band serves as the Marching Band, Color Guard, Tiger Dancers and Tiger Twirlers of Clemson University. The marching band component of the band is made up of wind instruments, percussion, and auxiliary units, including the piccolo, clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, and sousaphone. To the thousands of fans, it is known as the Tiger Band, or better yet the "band that shakes the Southland". Composed of over 300 members, Tiger Band's mission is to provide inspiring spirit and entertainment to not only the university, but beyond. Tiger Rag
"Tiger Rag" is a jazz standard that was recorded and copyrighted by the Original Dixieland Jass Band in 1917. It is one of the most recorded jazz compositions. In 2003, the 1918 recording of "Tiger Rag" was entered into the U.S. Library of Congress National Recording Registry. Background The song was first recorded on August 17, 1917 by the Original Dixieland Jass Band for Aeolian-Vocalion Records. The band did not use the "Jazz" spelling in its name until 1917. The Aeolian-Vocalion sides did not sell well because they were recorded in a vertical format which could not be played successfully on most contemporary phonographs. But the second recording on March 25, 1918 for Victor was a hit and established it as a jazz standard. The Alabama–Clemson football rivalry is a college football rivalry game between the Crimson Tide of the University of Alabama and the Tigers of Clemson University. History The two southern schools have long, decorated histories in the sport of college football. They first met on the football field on November 29, 1900. Clemson won the inaugural matchup by a score of 35–0. The Crimson Tide and Tigers met again in 1904 and 1905, with Clemson winning both games. The Auburn–Clemson football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Auburn Tigers and Clemson Tigers. Series history The rivalry began in 1899 and was played almost annually up until 1929.
