South Bend is a city in and the county seat of St. Joseph County, Indiana, St. Joseph County, Indiana, on the St. Joseph River (Lake Michigan), St. Joseph River near its southernmost bend, from which it derives its name. John Newcomer is an American game designer, best known for being the designer and lead developer of the 1982 pioneering arcade game ''Joust''. He designed, animated, and produced multiple games for Williams Electronics, Midway Games, Cybiko, and MumboJumbo. Biography Newcomer is the second of two children. His father, Robert, was a milkman and then a maintenance worker at University Park East movie theater. His mother, Beverly, was an administrative assistant and office manager. David Simkins is an American screenwriter and television producer. His first produced screenplay was for the film ''Adventures in Babysitting'' in 1987. He has written for and produced television shows such as '' Charmed'', '' Blade: The Series'', '' Dark Angel'' and '' Warehouse 13''. Early life and education Simkins grew up in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Clay High School in 1977, where he was active in the production of the Junior Achievement-sponsored comedy series ''Beyond Our Control''. Simkins learned the basics of television production on the series, which was broadcast locally on WNDU-TV. Don Schlundt
Don Schlundt (March 15, 1933 — October 10, 1985) was an American college basketball player. He was born in St. Joseph County, Indiana, to Martin and Anna (née Bodtke) Schlundt. He died in Indianapolis. Collegiate career Schlundt, a 6'9 center, played collegiately at Indiana University after a standout high school career at Washington Clay High School in South Bend, Indiana. He played for the Hoosiers from 1951-1955. Freshmen were eligible to play college basketball in 1952 due to the Korean War, making Schlundt one of the hundreds of 1950's-era players to compete for four varsity seasons. Schlundt led the Hoosiers to the 1953 National Championship. Schlundt was named an All-American in 1953, 1954 and 1955. He left IU as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,192 points - a mark that stood for 32 years until Steve Alford broke it.
