Clay Aiken
Clayton Holmes Aiken (''né'' Grissom; born November 30, 1978) is an American singer, television personality, actor, politician, and activist. Aiken finished second place on the second season of ''American Idol'' in 2003, and his debut album, '' Measure of a Man'', went multi-platinum. He released four more albums on the RCA label, '' Merry Christmas with Love'' (2004), '' A Thousand Different Ways'' (2006), the Christmas EP ''All is Well'' (2006), and ''On My Way Here'' (2008). Decca Records
Decca Records is a British record label established in 1929 by Edward Lewis. Its U.S. label was established in late 1934 by Lewis, Jack Kapp, American Decca's first president, and Milton Rackmil, who later became American Decca's president. In 1937, anticipating Nazi aggression leading to World War II, Lewis sold American Decca and the link between the U.K. and U.S. Decca labels was broken for several decades. The British label was renowned for its development of recording methods, while the American company developed the concept of cast albums in the musical genre. Both wings are now part of the Universal Music Group. The U.S. Decca label was the foundation company that evolved into UMG (Universal Music Group). Politicon
Politicon was an annual, non-partisan political convention in the United States. Politicon's vision was to bring "Republicans, Democrats, and people of all political stripes together to banter and spar over the most topical issues in smart and entertaining ways that often poke fun at both sides of the aisle." It has been called the "Comic-Con of politics" and the "Coachella of politics". It was first held in Los Angeles in 2015, with the last on held on October 26–27, 2019, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Music City Center. It eventually dissolved in 2022. ''Tried and True'' is the fifth studio album by Clay Aiken, released on June 1, 2010. This album is Aiken's first on the Decca label. The deluxe edition includes two additional tracks plus a second disk with behind the scenes video and a live performance. Background The songs on this album are classics from the 1950s and 1960s. "Unchained Melody" and "Mack the Knife" were performed by Aiken when he was a contestant on ''American Idol's'' second season. The 2014 United States House of Representatives elections in North Carolina were held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 to elect the 13 U.S. representatives from the state of North Carolina, one from each of the state's 13 congressional districts. Primary elections were held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. ''ThinkProgress'' was an American progressive news website that was active from 2005 to 2019. It was a project of the Center for American Progress Action Fund (CAP Action), a progressive public policy research and advocacy organization. Founded by Judd Legum in 2005, the site's reports were regularly discussed by mainstream news outlets and peer-reviewed academic journals. ''ThinkProgress'' also hosted a climate section called ''Climate Progress'', which was founded by Joe Romm. In 2019, after financial losses, CAP Action unsuccessfully sought a new publisher for the site. No new content has been added since September 2019, rendering ''ThinkProgress'' effectively defunct.
