Claudio Slon
Claudio Slon (November 12, 1943 - April 16, 2002) was a notable Brazilian jazz drummer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He performed in a variety of Latin music genres, including Latin pop, Latin jazz, Brazilian pop and easy pop. The son of a classical violinist and a ballet instructor, Slon was raised in São Paulo and began recording professionally at an early age, taking first place in a national poll of jazz critics while still a teenager. He performed alongside his father in the São Paulo Philharmonic, before appearing with the Walter Wanderley Trio, as well as Sérgio Mendes' Brasil '66 and Brasil ‘77 during the 1960s and 1970s. In physics, mathematics, and related fields, a wave is a propagating dynamic disturbance (change from equilibrium) of one or more quantities. Waves can be periodic, in which case those quantities oscillate repeatedly about an equilibrium (resting) value at some frequency. Dorival "Dori" Tostes Caymmi (born 26 August 1943) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, guitarist, arranger, and producer. Biography Caymmi was born in Rio de Janeiro to parents who were musicians, his father Dorival Caymmi a composer and his mother Stella Maris a singer. When he was eight, he started piano lessons. At the Conservatório Lorenzo Fernandez, he studied music theory and harmony. He became a professional musician in 1959 when he accompanied his sister Nana in a performance. During the next year, he became a member of Grupo dos Sete and composed music for TV. He directed the play ''Opinião'' and performed on violão for it in 1964, contributing to the growth of música popular brasileira ( MPB). The first side of this album is in the bossa nova style, and the second side is influenced by soft rock, featuring two songs from John Denver. The bossa nova recordings were originally cut for a follow-up to the widely acclaimed '' Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim''. Arranged by Eumir Deodato, the recordings had been completed, the artwork finalized, and an 8-track tape release of the planned album, titled ''Sinatra–Jobim'', briefly made available when the decision was made to retrench. Some of Sinatra's less mainstream albums hadn't performed well, and anxieties drove the creation of this hybrid. ''Rain Forest'' is a 1966 album by Walter Wanderley. It contains the pop crossover hit "Summer Samba", which reached No. 26 on the US Hot 100; the album itself reached No. 22 on the Top LPs chart. Reception ''Billboard'' magazine reviewed the album in their September 3, 1966 issue and wrote that the "young Brazilian organist plays superbly" and that ""Summer Samba" has the power to pull this delightful package right up the LP chart". Robert Marshall Rosengarden (April 23, 1924 – February 27, 2007) was an American jazz drummer and bandleader. A native of Elgin, Illinois, United States, he played on many recordings and in television orchestras and talk show bands. Rosengarden began playing drums when he was 12, and later studied at the University of Michigan. After playing drums in Army bands in World War II, he moved to New York City, working in several groups between 1945 and 1948, before becoming a busy studio musician. He played at NBC-TV (1949–1968) and ABC (1969–1974) on ''The Steve Allen Show'', ''The Ernie Kovacs Show'', ''Sing Along With Mitch'', Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show Band, and led the band for ''The Dick Cavett Show''.
