''Claudine'' is Claudine Longet's debut LP album. It was her first serious attempt to start a music career after she had appeared on a number of variety shows and released the single ''Meditation'' in 1966. Longet's records were part of the effort of Herb Alpert's A&M Records to expand the label's repertoire. The sessions were arranged by Nick De Caro and engineered by Bruce Botnick. Pierre Barouh
Pierre Barouh (born Élie Pierre Barouh; 19 February 1934 – 28 December 2016) was a French writer-composer-singer best known for his work on Claude Lelouch's film ''A Man and a Woman'' as an actor and the lyricist/singer for Francis Lai's music score. Early life and music Barouh was born in Paris and along with his brother, Albert, and sister, was raised in Levallois-Perret. Their parents were Turkish-Jewish stallholders selling fabrics. During the Second World War, their parents hid them from the Nazis; Pierre and his sister in Montournais and Albert in la Limouzinière. During these years Élie, baptised Pierre, lived at La Grèlerie, the home of Hilaire and Marie Rocher, who had two sons. From this time, he drew inspiration for songs like "À bicyclette", "Des ronds dans l'eau" and "Les Filles du dimanche". Vinícius De Moraes
Marcus Vinícius da Cruz e Mello Moraes (19 October 1913 – 9 July 1980), better known as Vinícius de Moraes () and nicknamed O Poetinha ("The little poet"), was a Brazilian poet, diplomat, lyricist, essayist, musician, singer, and playwright. Edmond Bacri known by the professional name Eddy Marnay ( Algiers, 18 December 1920 – 3 January 2003), was a French songwriter. Norman Gimbel (November 16, 1927 – December 19, 2018) was an American lyricist of popular songs, television and movie themes. He wrote the lyrics for songs including "Killing Me Softly with His Song", " Ready to Take a Chance Again" (both with composer Charles Fox) and "Canadian Sunset". He also wrote English-language lyrics for many international hits, including " Sway", " Summer Samba", "The Girl from Ipanema", " How Insensitive", " Drinking-Water", "Meditation", "I Will Wait for You" and "Watch What Happens". Newton Mendonça
Newton Ferreira de Mendonça (February 14, 1927 – November 22, 1960) was a musician, composer, and lyricist. He began as a pianist in 1950. Mendonça was born in Rio de Janeiro. In 1953 he started working with Antônio Carlos Jobim, something for which he is best known. Mendonça went on to co-compose music and lyrics for Desafinado, Meditação, and Samba de uma nota só. In 1959 he had his first heart attack, but his songs continued gaining attention.
