Claudia Paola Suárez Fernández (born May 16, 1987) is a Venezuelan model and former beauty pageant winner. Suárez, who stands 5'10.5" (1,79 m) tall, represented the state of Mérida in the national beauty pageant Miss Venezuela 2006, on September 14, 2006, and obtained the title of Miss Venezuela Mundo 2007, after placing second to Ly Jonaitis of the state of Guárico. On December 1, 2007, she represented her country in the Miss World 2007 pageant in Sanya (China), placing among the top 16 semifinalists. On January 26, 2008, she placed 2nd runner-up at the Miss Atlantico Internacional 2008 pageant in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Miss Venezuela 2006 was the 53rd Miss Venezuela pageant, was held in Caracas, Venezuela, on September 14, 2006, after weeks of events. The winner of the pageant was Ly Jonaitis, Miss Guárico. The pageant was broadcast live on Venevision from the Poliedro de Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, outgoing titleholder Jictzad Viña crowned Ly Jonaitis of Guárico as the new Miss Venezuela. Peretti was the first deaf woman to compete in the Miss Venezuela pageant, when she represented the Sucre state. Miss World 2007, the 57th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 1 December 2007 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. It was hosted by Fernando Allende and Angela Chow. Zhang Zilin of China won the crown and succeeded Taťána Kuchařová of the Czech Republic. The 106 contestants recorded the official torch relay anthem Light the Passion, Share the Dream for the 2008 Olympic Games as a major co-operation between the Beijing Olympic Committee and Miss World Limited.
