Classified Records
Classified Records was an independent record label based in San Francisco, California, that released music by Jocelyn Enriquez, Pinay, Julie Plug, M:G, Drop 'n Harmony, as well as the Serenade compilation series. The label was founded by Kormann Roque, Elvin Reyes, and Rino Que in 1993. Classified Records was well known within the Filipino community since many staff members and recording artists were of Filipino descent. The first release was the debut album by Jocelyn Enriquez, who became popular with her hit records "I've Been Thinking About You", " Do You Miss Me?", and "A Lil' Bit of Ecstasy" produced by Glenn Gutierrez. The label's other notable singles included "Is It Real" by Pinay along with "Sweet Honesty" and "What Do You Remember" by M:G. All of these charted on ''Billboard'' magazine. Jocelyn Enriquez
Jocelyn Enriquez (born December 28, 1974) is a Filipino American dance-pop singer born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her most popular songs are "Do You Miss Me", "A Little Bit of Ecstasy", and the Stars on 54 (Enriquez alongside Ultra Naté and Amber) cover of Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind". Her success helped inspire and pave the way for many Asian American, particularly Filipino Americans from the San Francisco Bay Area, artists during the mid to late 1990s such as Buffy, Kai, One Vo1ce, Pinay, Sharyn Maceren, and others. Career Enriquez was first heard singing at the age of 3 along to Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell". During her childhood she received formal voice training with the San Francisco Girl Chorus and San Francisco Opera Company. Do You Miss Me?
"Do You Miss Me?" was written and produced by Glenn Gutierrez for Jocelyn Enriquez. The single was debuted on the San Francisco radio station Wild 107.7 (now Wild 94.9) and then released in 1996 on Classified Records. As momentum picked up for the single it led to a joint venture between Tommy Boy Records, imprint Timber! Records and Classified Records. Gutierrez wrote this song about the end of his relationship by the same woman who inspired "I Didn't Know Love Would Break My Heart" on Enriquez's debut album "Lovely". The song was re-released in 1997 as the lead single from her second album, ''Jocelyn'' and includes the 'Running Mix' inspired by Information Society's "Running". The song became an international hit and lead to her to tour countries such as Brazil, Philippines, and perform on the hit talk show Ricki Lake. Tommy Boy Entertainment is an American independent record label and multimedia brand founded in 1981 by Tom Silverman. Sultan Banks (February 26, 1979 – January 2, 2022), better known as Traxamillion, was an American hip hop producer from San Jose, California. He produced records such as Keak da Sneak's "Super Hyphy" and Dem Hoodstarz "Grown Man Remix". His first album, ''The Slapp Addict'', was a compilation of Bay Area hyphy artists and was released August 22, 2006. Todrick Hall (born April 4, 1985) is an American singer, choreographer, and YouTuber. He gained national attention on the ninth season of the televised singing competition ''American Idol''.
