Classic Star Wars
''Classic Star Wars'' is a series of various classic ''Star Wars'' comics reprinted by Dark Horse Comics between 1992 and 1996. It notably includes compilations of the weekly newspaper ''Star Wars'' comic strips written by Archie Goodwin and illustrated by Al Williamson; these were published as 20 single issues between 1992 and 1994 with new cover art by Williamson and others, and collected as three trade paperbacks between 1994 and 1996. While originally achromatic, these comics were colorized for the Dark Horse reprints. Adam Hughes (born May 5, 1967) is an American comics artist and illustrator best known to American comic book readers for his renderings of pinup-style female characters, and his cover work on titles such as ''Wonder Woman'' and ''Catwoman''. He is known as one of comics' foremost cheesecake artists, and one of the best known and most distinctive comic book cover artists. ''Splinter of the Mind's Eye'' is a 1978 science-fiction novel written by Alan Dean Foster as a sequel to the film '' Star Wars'' (1977). Originally published in 1978 by Del Rey, a division of Ballantine Books, the book was written with the intention of being adapted as a low-budget sequel to ''Star Wars'' in case the original film was not successful enough to finance a high-budget sequel. Ralph Angus McQuarrie (; June 13, 1929 – March 3, 2012) was an American conceptual designer and illustrator. His career included work on the original ''Star Wars'' trilogy, the original ''Battlestar Galactica'' television series, the film '' E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'', and the film '' Cocoon'', for which he won an Academy Award. Russ Cochran (; July 3, 1937 – February 23, 2020) was a publisher of EC Comics reprints, Disney comics, and books on Hopalong Cassidy, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, and vacuum tubes. He was a publisher for over 30 years, after quitting his job as a physics professor. His EC Comics reprints included the black-and-white '' The Complete EC Library'', the four-color '' EC Annuals'', and the full-color hardcover EC Archives. In 1982, he was awarded an Inkpot Award. John Stokes (comics)
John Stokes is a British comics artist who has largely worked for IPC and Marvel UK and is best known for his work on '' Fishboy''. Biography Stokes got into the comics industry thanks to his brother, George Stokes, who already worked for IPC. He lived in India until the age of 8 or 9, and when he came to England the first comic work he saw was that of his brother and colleagues, as well the comic ''Eagle'', which launched around the same time. This sparked a lifelong interest in comics and he moved from drawing comics in his spare time at school and trying not to draw comics at art school (where his interest was discouraged), to doing it professionally, starting in the early 1960s. Marvel UK was an imprint of Marvel Comics formed in 1972 to reprint US-produced stories for the British weekly comic market. Marvel UK later produced original material by British creators such as Alan Moore, John Wagner, Dave Gibbons, Steve Dillon, and Grant Morrison. There were a number of editors in charge of overseeing the UK editions. Although based in the United States, Tony Isabella oversaw the establishment of Marvel UK. He was succeeded by UK-based editors Peter L. Skingley (a.k.a.
