Classic Grand
The Classic Grand is a live event venue and nightclub in Glasgow, Scotland. Located on Jamaica Street, it features many live bands and also sometimes hosts specialist events. It shows a variety of both local and well-known acts. History The building was originally constructed around 1860 as a 5-storey commercial warehouse. The cinema conversion was designed by William B Whitie, and utilised the basement to the second storey. It opened as the Grand Central cinema in 1915, seating 750. The venue was closed in 1966, and was unused until it reopened in 1973 under the name Classic Grand, seating 365. It became the Cannon-Grand in 1985, and finally closed as a cinema in 1992. The building was used as an amusement arcade before being reopened as the Classic Grand Live Music Venue. The interior, although badly damaged by a fire in 2001, retains some of its original Art Deco features. The structure has been protected as a category B listed building since December 1970. Benjamin Paul Ballance-Drew (born 22 October 1983), better known by his stage name Plan B, is an English rapper, singer, songwriter, actor and filmmaker. He first emerged as a rapper, releasing his debut album, ''Who Needs Actions When You Got Words'', in 2006. Nicholas "Nicky" McDonald (born 23 November 1996) is a Scottish singer. He was the runner-up of the tenth series of '' The X Factor'' in 2013. After the show, he signed with RCA Records and released his debut album ''In the Arms of an Angel'' in March 2014, peaking at number 6 on the UK Albums Chart. Misfits (band)
The Misfits are an American punk rock band often recognized as the pioneers of the horror punk subgenre, blending punk and other musical influences with horror film themes and imagery. The group was founded in 1977 in Lodi, New Jersey, by vocalist, songwriter and keyboardist Glenn Danzig, and drummer Manny Martínez. Jerry Only joined on bass guitar shortly after. Over the next six years, membership would change frequently with Danzig and Only remaining the two sole consistent members. Lordi
Lordi () is a Finnish hard rock/ heavy metal band, formed in 1992 by the band's lead singer, songwriter and costume maker, Mr Lordi (Tomi Petteri Putaansuu). In addition to their melodic metal music, Lordi are also known for wearing monster masks and using horror elements with pyrotechnics during concerts and music videos. The band rose to fame in 2002 with their hit single "Would You Love a Monsterman?", and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with their song " Hard Rock Hallelujah". Hayseed Dixie is an American band formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2000. Their first album was ''A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC''. The band performs bluegrass cover versions of hard rock songs and also original songs of a mostly satirical or absurdist nature in a self-created musical genre which the band calls "rockgrass." Joseph Saddler (born January 1, 1958), popularly known by his stage name Grandmaster Flash, is an American DJ and rapper. Glasvegas are a Scottish indie rock band from Glasgow. The band consists of James Allan (vocals), Rab Allan (lead guitar) and Paul Donoghue (bass guitar), with Swedish drummer Jonna Löfgren joining the group in 2010 until her departure in 2020.
