''Claroscura'' is the eighth studio album by Colombian band Aterciopelados, released in 2018. It marks the band's return after nine years since their previous studio album. Production duties were shared by Héctor Buitrago and Argentine producer Cachorro Lopez in Groove Studios in Bogotá, while the mastering was done by the engineer Emily Lazar in The Lodge Studio L.A. The first single from the album was the Ana Tijoux collaboration, "Play", released on April 12, 2018. Several lyrics of the album are focused on female empowerment as well as topics that have been frequented by the group in previous albums such as the environment and spirituality. They received a Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, making it their third Latin Grammy and were also nominated in the category of Best Alternative Song for the song "Dúo". Aterciopelados ( en, The Velvet Ones), also known as Los Aterciopelados, is a rock band from Colombia, led by Andrea Echeverri and Héctor Buitrago. Their music fuses rock with a variety of Colombian and Latin American musical traditions. Aterciopelados have recorded eight albums. The group has won four Latin Grammy Awards from eight nominations, including Best Alternative Album in 2007 for '' Oye'', as well as four Grammy Award nominations. Their song "Bolero Falaz" topped Canal Viva Colombia's list of the 1,000 most important songs of Colombian rock, and several more of their songs also made the list, including "Maligno", "El Estuche", "Mujer Gala" and "Sortilegio". Reluciente, Rechinante Y Aterciopelado
''Reluciente, Rechinante y Aterciopelado'' is the first live album by Colombian band Aterciopelados. It was recorded before a live audience of 140 guests in Bogotá, Colombia, on June 2, 2015 and released as a CD and DVD on April 22, 2016. Directed by Roberto de Zubiría and produced by Rafael Arcaurte the album includes featured performances by León Larregui, Spanish singer Macaco, Goyo (ChocQuibTown) and Catalina García (Monsieur Perine). The proposal to record a concert film came from Sony Music Colombia after the band's comeback concert at Rock al Parque 2014. After almost two months of rehearsals the concert was recorded. The album contains songs from their previous albums '' El Dorado'', ''La Pipa de la Paz'', '' Caribe Atómico'' and '' Gozo Poderoso'' as well as songs from solo projects by the members of the band. Héctor Buitrago
Héctor Buitrago is the co-member of the multiple Grammy winning Colombian Latin alternative band Aterciopelados. Buitrago came from a hardcore rock background, heading a group called La Pestilencia, while co-member Andrea Echeverri had been drawn into the fledgling scene through art school friends. Buitrago and Echeverri went on to open one of Bogota's only rock clubs, and their relationship is one Latin rock's most successful artistic partnerships. ''Bear Cub'' ( es, Cachorro) is a 2004 Spanish comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Miguel Albaladejo. The plot follows a bearish gay man who ends up looking after his nephew while his sister goes away to India and in turn makes him develop a fatherly bond with the boy, while forcing him to change his lifestyle. Emily B. Lazar is an American mastering engineer. She is the founder, president, and chief mastering engineer of The Lodge, an audio mastering facility that has operated in New York City's Greenwich Village since 1997. Anamaría Tijoux Merino (; born 12 June 1977), commonly known by her stage name Ana Tijoux or Anita Tijoux, is a Chilean-French singer and musician. Jorge Celedón also known as Jorgito Celedón is a Colombian musician and singer of vallenato music. Celedón was one of the backup singers for the vallenato group Binomio de Oro de America who joined after the death of Rafael Orozco Maestre. Andrea Echeverri Arias (born September 13, 1965) is a Colombian rock/ pop singer and guitarist. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from University of Los Andes and was a ceramist before becoming a musician. She is the lead singer in Aterciopelados where she also plays the acoustic guitar.
