Claro Open Colombia
The Colombia Open (currently sponsored by Claro and called the ''Claro Open Colombia'') was a professional men's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts in Bogotá, Colombia. The event is affiliated with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and is a 250 series tournament on the ATP World Tour. The tournament replaced the Los Angeles Open on the ATP World Tour starting in 2013. IMLA de Colombia bought the rights of the Los Angeles Open in 2013 and transferred the tournament to the city of Bogotá. The Colombia Open was the fifth tournament affiliated with the ATP held in Latin America, after the tournaments in Viña del Mar (Chile), São Paulo (Brazil), Acapulco (Mexico) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). It is also the tournament with the most prize money in South America, with a total of $727,000. The Colombia Open was replaced in 2016 calendar by the Los Cabos Open, in Mexico. Alejandro Falla
Alejandro Falla Ramírez (; born 14 November 1983) is a retired professional male tennis player from Colombia. The left-hander turned pro in 2000 and achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 48 in July 2012. At the 2006 Wimbledon tournament, Falla upset 9th seed Nikolay Davydenko and at the 2007 Sony Ericsson Open he beat 9th seed Tommy Haas in straight sets. He reached the semifinals of the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon in 2007, beating players such as the 5th seed Ivan Ljubičić. Michael Venus (tennis)
Michael Venus (born 16 October 1987), is a New Zealander professional tennis player. He has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6, achieved on 29 August 2022. Venus won the 2017 French Open men's doubles partnering Ryan Harrison, and followed with a runner-up finish in the 2017 US Open mixed doubles partnering Chan Hao-ching. Venus and Harrison qualified for the year-end championships ATP Finals, where they reached the semifinals. Mate Pavić (; born 4 July 1993) is a Croatian professional tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. He is a five-time Grand Slam champion, having won three titles in men's doubles: the 2018 Australian Open with Oliver Marach, the 2020 US Open with Bruno Soares, and the 2021 Wimbledon Championships with Nikola Mektić. Christopher Luke Guccione ( ; born 30 July 1985) is an inactive Australian professional tennis player from Greenvale, Victoria. Sitting as a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, Groth represents the Liberal Party in the seat of Nepean. The 2013 Claro Open Colombia was a men's professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the first edition of the tournament, which was part of the 2013 ATP World Tour. It took place in Bogotá, Colombia at Centro de Alto Rendimiento, between 15 and 21 July 2013. The Croatian Ivo Karlović was crowned first winner of the Claro Open Colombia after beating the Colombian Alejandro Falla in the final by 6-3 7-6(4) in a game that lasted one hour and 18 minutes. Karlovic was the surprise package of the 2013 edition, in a tournament that boasted the likes of the Serbian Janko Tipsarević and the South African Kevin Anderson. In the doubles, the Indian couple formed by Purav Raja and Divij Sharan were crowned winners after defeating the Dutch Igor Sijsling and the French Édouard Roger-Vasselin by 7-6(4) and 7-6(3) in an hour and 30 minutes.
