Charles Francis Adams High School, locally referred to as Clarkston High School or CHS, is a four-year public high school located near downtown Clarkston, Washington. The school has a population of 800-850 students in grades 9–12, with over 100 staff members. CHS's mascot is the mighty Bantam, and the school colors are red, black, and white. Rivalries CHS's rivals are the Lewiston Bengals, located across the Snake River in Idaho in the twin city of Lewiston. The rivalry game in football began in 1906, and was formerly played on Thanksgiving day. Activities Clarkston High School offers a variety of sports, clubs and activities for students to participate in throughout the school year. Clarkston is a city in Asotin County, Washington, United States. It is part of the Lewiston, ID-WA metropolitan area, and is located west of Lewiston, Idaho, across the Snake River. The population of Clarkston was 7,229 at the 2010 census. Walla Walla Community College opened a branch campus in Clarkston that serves the surrounding area. Clarkston's ZIP code, 99403, is the highest in the contiguous United States. History Clarkston was first settled in 1862 by Robert Bracken, and was officially incorporated on August 14, 1902. A bantam is any small variety of fowl, usually of chicken or domestic duck, duck. Lewiston High School (Idaho)
Lewiston High School is a four-year public secondary school in Lewiston, Idaho, the only traditional high school in the Lewiston School District. The school colors of LHS are purple and gold and the mascot is Joe Bengal. After 92 years of service, the 1928 building (1114 Ninth Avenue) closed in 2020, and the new campus is approximately southeast. Athletics Lewiston competes in IHSAA Class 5A with the largest schools in the state, and its conference is the Inland Empire League (5A) with Coeur d'Alene, Lake City, and Post Falls; all about two hours north in Kootenai County. Lewiston has long-term rivalries with adjacent Clarkston and also with Moscow, about north on the adjoining Palouse. The Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) was a standardized educational assessment system given as the primary assessment in the state of Washington from spring 1997 to summer 2009.
