The institution was founded in 1888 by Meliora Clarkson following the death of her husband Bishop Robert Clarkson of the Episcopal Church. It is affiliated with Nebraska Medicine. Clarkson, Oklahoma
Clarkson was a small community located north of the Cimarron River in Payne County, Oklahoma Territory. Founded by Dunkers (Church of the Brethren), the post office opened January 31, 1890, with Grant T. Johnson as the postmaster. The post office closed February 28, 1903. On January 3, 1894, members of the Doolin Gang held up the community store and post office taking supplies, tobacco, cash, and registered mail. Clarkson is an unincorporated community in southwestern Middleton Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, United States, clustered around the intersection of Clarkson and Sprucevale roads. For most of the 19th century, until the founding of Negley and Rogers, Clarkson was the most prominent settlement in Middleton Township. History Clarkson was platted in February 1816 by Robert Hanna, who moved there in a conestoga wagon with his wife. It was surveyed by William Heald. Hanna built and resided in a log tavern at the intersection of two roads. This building was later known as the Edward McGinnis tavern. In 1817, James Monroe, while President of the United States, visited his cousin, Catherine Hanna, in Clarkson. A post office was established in Clarkson in 1833 and remained until 1935.
