Clark Boyd
Clark Boyd is an American radio journalist. He was the award-winning technology correspondent for ''The World'', a daily global news program created by Public Radio International (PRI), and co-produced by PRI, the BBC World Service, and WGBH Boston. He has been with the program from 1996 to 2018. He has covered stories from around the globe focusing on technology in its many forms and its impact on people around the world. His reporting on a four-part series on global stem cell research helped The World win an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for Broadcast Journalism in 2006. He was also the original host and creator of PRI's The World Technology podcast, which launched in February 2005, and was the first radio program at a national level to podcast. The World (radio Program)
''The World'' is a US public radio news magazine with an emphasis on international news. The program originated partly in response to declining coverage of international news by US commercial media. It is co-produced by WGBH and the Public Radio Exchange (PRX) of the United States. ''The World'' was the first co-production of Public Radio International. It was also the first news co-production of the BBC World Service. For the BBC, ''The World'' was conceived as a stand-alone program and also as a template for future co-productions which might expand the reach of the BBC World Service. At its launch, it was the first program dedicated to providing global news and making a global-local connection for Americans on a daily basis. Public Radio International (PRI) was an American public radio organization. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, PRI provided programming to over 850 public radio stations in the United States. PRI was one of the main providers of programming for public radio stations in the US, alongside National Public Radio, American Public Media and the Public Radio Exchange. The BBC World Service is an international broadcasting, international broadcaster owned and operated by the BBC, with funding from the Government of the United Kingdom, British Government through the Foreign Secretary, Foreign Secretary's office. It is the world's largest external broadcaster in terms of reception area, language selection and audience reach. WGBH-TV (channel 2), branded on-air as GBH or GBH 2 since 2020, is the primary PBS member television station in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The Knight Science Journalism program (styled as "KSJ@MIT") offers 9-month research fellowships, based at its headquarters at the MIT School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, to elite staff and freelance journalists specializing in coverage of science and technology, medicine, or the environment.
