Clara Brawner
Clara Arena Brawner (August 29, 1929 – October 4, 1991) was the only African-American woman physician in Memphis, Tennessee, in the mid-1950s. Early life The daughter of a pediatric physician and a registered nurse, Brawner was born in Georgia and raised in Memphis and attended Manassas High School. African Americans
African Americans (also referred to as Black Americans and Afro-Americans) are an ethnic group consisting of Americans with partial or total ancestry from sub-Saharan Africa. Sunday School
A Sunday school is an educational institution, usually (but not always) Christian in character. Other religions including Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism have also organised Sunday schools in their temples and mosques, particularly in the West. Sunday school classes usually precede a Sunday church service and are used to provide catechesis to Christians, especially children and teenagers, and sometimes adults as well. Churches of many Christian denominations have classrooms attached to the church used for this purpose.
