Claire Anderson (actress)
Claire Mathis Anderson (May 8, 1891 – March 23, 1964), native of Detroit, was a silent film actress who worked with stars such as Constance Talmadge, Harry Carey, Thurston Hall, Tom Mix and Gloria Swanson. She was described as one of the original Sennett Bathing Beauties. Before she became an actress, Anderson worked as a telephone operator in Hudson's department store in Detroit. Anderson became the first documented double used in film in 1914 when she replaced Blanche Sweet in some scenes of ''The Escape'' while Sweet had scarlet fever. She also volunteered to replace a leading lady in a Sennett comedy who refused to enter a lion's cage. After Anderson entered the cage, she received a contract for $675 a week. Anderson also appeared in the 1944 production of ''Mexican Hayride'' at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City. She was married to Harry H. Anderson, a "wealthy Hollywood automobile agent". Claire Anderson née Claire Walker (born 1992) is a Scottish international lawn bowler. Bowls career She has won the indoor National triples in 2015 and 2018, the indoor pairs in 2016, the British indoor triples in 2016 and the pairs in 2017. In 2020, she was selected for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Australia but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, she was selected as part of the team to represent Scotland at the 2023 World Outdoor Bowls Championship 3 (three) is a number, numeral and digit. Claire Anderson is an English radio DJ, television presenter and voice-over artist. She was the presenter of the Sony-nominated ''The Late Lounge'' when it was broadcast on Jazz FM, from 2009 until 2016. She now presents it in its streaming-only format. She also remains the station's voice. Anderson began as a DJ on Whiston Hospital Radio in Prescot, Merseyside.
