Claes Af Geijerstam
Claes Olof af Geijerstam (; born 6 February 1946), nicknamed Clabbe (), is a Swedish musician, radio personality and DJ who is mostly famous for his talent of rapid speech and his many years as a radio DJ. He is also known for his role as jury member on the popular Swedish version of ''Pop Idol'' during 2004–2006. After the 2006 season, he decided to leave the programme. Af Geijerstam was part of the pop group Ola & the Janglers in the 1960s and formed the group Malta (later renamed Nova) together with Göran Fristorp. They competed in Melodifestivalen 1973 with the song "Sommar'n som aldrig säger nej." They won the contest over ABBA, who finished in third place with their song "Ring Ring (Bara du slog en signal)." The third season of ''Idol'' premiered in Sweden on August 29, 2006, and continued until its grand finale on December 1, when 24-year-old Markus Fagervall from Övertorneå was crowned winner. ''Aftonbladet'' (, lit. "The evening paper") is a Swedish daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the largest daily newspapers in the Nordic countries. History and profile The newspaper was founded by Lars Johan Hierta in December 1830 under the name of ''Aftonbladet i Stockholm'' during the modernization of Sweden. Often critical and oppositional, the paper was repeatedly banned from publishing. However, Hierta circumvented the bans by constantly reviving the paper under slightly modified names, as, legally speaking, a new publication. Ola & The Janglers
Ola & the Janglers were a garage rock and beat group, founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 1962. Its lead member was Ola Håkansson. Guitarist Claes "Clabbe" af Geijerstam wrote many of their hits. He was later a member of the duo Nova (Swedish name "Malta") with Göran Fristorp. The duo won the Swedish part of the Eurovision in 1973. (ABBA was number 3 with " Ring Ring". Clabbe was also a program leader and later worked on ABBA's tours. Among the hits they scored in their native country were "She's Not There", "No, No, No" (1965), "Love Was on Your Mind", "Poetry in Motion", "Alex Is the Man" (1966), "I'm Thinking of You" (1965), "Strolling Along", and " Runaway" (1968). Sweden chose their entry for Eurovision Song Contest 1973 in a national final called Melodifestivalen 1973. One of the competitors was a group of those who would later be the members of ABBA, but they only finished 3rd with their own entry. Instead, the winner was the song "Sommaren som aldrig säger nej" with the group Malta. To avoid confusion, they changed their name to "Nova and the Dolls" for the contest. The song was translated into English and got the name "You're Summer". The song's lyrics were written by Lars Forsell, and it was composed by Monica and Carl-Axel Dominique. "Ring Ring" is a song by Swedish group ABBA, released as the title track of their 1973 debut album. The single gave the group their big break in several European countries (although the rest of Europe, North America and Australia would be introduced to ABBA the following year). The Eurovision Song Contest 1973 was the 18th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, following the country's victory at the with the song " Après toi" by Vicky Leandros. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Télédiffusion (CLT), the contest was held at the Grand Théâtre on 7 April 1973 and was hosted by German television presenter Helga Guitton. Seventeen countries took part in the contest this year, with and deciding not to participate, and competing for the first time. In a back-to-back victory, won the contest again with the song "Tu te reconnaîtras" by Anne-Marie David.
