Fucoidan is a long chain sulfated polysaccharide found in various species of brown algae. Commercially available fucoidan is commonly extracted from the seaweed species ''Fucus vesiculosus'', ''Cladosiphon okamuranus'', ''Laminaria japonica'' and '' Undaria pinnatifida''.
