Civil Twilight (band)
Civil Twilight was a four-piece rock band from Cape Town, South Africa, consisting of the brothers Andrew and Steven McKellar plus Richard Wouters and Kevin Dailey. They are signed to Wind-up Records, and have released three studio albums – their self-titled debut album, ''Civil Twilight'' (2009), '' Holy Weather'' (2012), and '' Story of an Immigrant'' on 10 July 2015. Origin Originally hailing from Cape Town, Civil Twilight started as a trio that drew parallels with The Police and very early U2, Muse, Jeff Buckley, and Radiohead. Their music has been described as having impassioned vocals and classic song craft. Brothers Andrew and Steven McKellar were raised in a musical household, having explored their father's jazz collection at a young age while listening to their classically trained mother play piano. Kevin Dailey
Kevin Dailey is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and mixer based in Nashville, Tennessee. As a producer, engineer, musician, composer or mixer, he has worked with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Mikky Ekko, Rome Fortune, Myzica, Skyway Man, SHEL, and Abigail Washburn. He is a member of the band Civil Twilight. He recently composed original score for Travis Rice's recent film, ''Depth Perception'' and season one of '' Queen America'' starring Catherine Zeta-Jones. Background Dailey was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to a family of musicians. In 2007, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee. He joined the South African rock band Civil Twilight as a guitarist and keyboardist in 2012. Neon Trees is an American rock band from Provo, Utah. The band received nationwide exposure in late 2008 when they opened several North American tour dates for the band The Killers. Not long after, the band was signed by Mercury Records. Their first single, "Animal", climbed to No. 13 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Alternative Songs chart. Anberlin is an American alternative rock band formed in Winter Haven, Florida in 2002. Since the beginning of 2007, the band consists of lead vocalist Stephen Christian, guitarists Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney, bassist Deon Rexroat, and drummer Nathan Young. Members of Anberlin originally formed a band under the name SaGoh 24/7 in 1998, releasing two studio albums before disbanding, with the members having a change in musical direction and name. Mutemath (sometimes styled as MuteMath or MUTEMATH) is an American alternative rock project founded by American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer Paul Meany. Originally co-founded as a band with Darren King in 2002, Meany decided to continue Mutemath as a solo project following King's departure in 2017. Mutemath draws heavily from influences in 1960s and 1970s soul, psychedelic rock, and jam band styles, utilizing vintage guitars and amplifiers as well as Rhodes keyboards, synthesizers, and other electronic instruments such as the keytar. Morning Parade
Morning Parade was an English five-piece alternative rock band from Harlow, Essex that formed in 2007 before signing with Parlophone in 2010. Its self-titled debut album was released early in 2012. The line-up was composed of Steve Sparrow (lead vocals, piano and guitar), Phil Titus (bass), Chad Thomas (guitar), Ben Giddings (piano/synths), and Andrew Hayes (drums). The band broke up on 4 December 2014. Early days and formation Steve Sparrow and Phil Titus met as students at Burnt Mill Academy in Harlow. They later worked together as labourers. Steve then met Chad Thomas at Harlow College in 2003.
