The City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications (SRTA-City) ( ar, مدينة الأبحاث العلمية والتطبيقات التكنولوجية) is an Egyptian research institution, established by the 1993 Presidential Decree No. 85 and opened on 13 August 2000 to develop scientific technologies in the various industrial and research fields. The City was established within New Borg El Arab city in Alexandria Governorate on an area of 225 acre, chosen for being one of the major industrial areas in Egypt, containing five industrial zones with more than 1,300 factories in various activities. About 464 people are employed in the City, including 185 researchers in various scientific disciplines. The City has published about 500 research papers in internationally indexed journals.
