Cities Of Refuge
The cities of refuge ( ''‘ārê ha-miqlāṭ'') were six Levitical towns in the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah in which the perpetrators of accidental manslaughter could claim the right of asylum. Maimonides, invoking talmudic literature, expands the city of refuge count to all 48 Levitical cities. Outside of these cities, blood vengeance against such perpetrators was allowed by law. The Bible names the six cities as being cities of refuge: Golan, Ramoth, and Bosor, on the east (left bank) of the Jordan River, and Kedesh, Shechem, and Hebron on the western (right) side. Biblical regulations In Numbers In the Book of Numbers, the laws concerning the cities of refuge state that, once he had claimed asylum, a perpetrator had to be taken from the city and put on trial; if the trial found that the perpetrator was innocent of murder, then the perpetrator had to be returned under guard (for their own protection) to the city in which they had claimed asylum. City of Refuge is a Christian organization that provides food and shelter for those in need created in July 1997. The City of Refuge was founded in July 1997 by Bruce Deel, the senior pastor of The Mission Church. Deel is a graduate of the Lee university of Cleveland. He has received numerous awards and for his success with the City of Refuge. The City of Refuge provides a housing program Eden Village. This organization also provides vocational training including the: Workforce Innovation Hub which offers mentoring and training on job readiness, NAPA Auto Center which is a 15-week-long auto tech training and job placement, 180° Kitchen Culinary Arts Academy which is a 10-week-long for careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry and Veterans Molding Minds where military veterans are giving one on one mentoring and coaching to help insure them long time employment. Noel Jones (born January 31, 1950) is a Jamaican minister and a Pentecostal bishop. He is the senior pastor of the City of Refuge Church in Gardena, California, which has about 17,000 members, and was formerly the Greater Bethany Community Church. ''Tender Prey'' is the fifth studio album by Australian rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, released on 19 September 1988 on Mute Records. Produced by Flood (producer), Flood, the album was recorded during several sessions over the course of four months in West Berlin—where the band were based at the time of its release—and London and dedicated to Fernando Ramos da Silva. John French (musician)
John Stephen French (born 29 September 1948) is an American drummer and former member of Captain Beefheart's Magic Band, where he was known by the nickname Drumbo. He was the principal drummer on several of Beefheart's albums, including 1969's ''Trout Mask Replica'', for which he also acted as arranger. He later released several albums as a solo artist as well as with the collaborative group French Frith Kaiser Thompson. Early life French grew up in Lancaster, California; the same area of Southern California as Frank Zappa, Don Van Vliet and other members of The Magic Band and The Mothers of Invention. He was interested in the local music scene as a teenager, hanging out with Doug Moon and watching The Omens perform live.
