Cleveland City Stars
The Cleveland City Stars were an American professional soccer team based in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Founded in 2006, the team played in the USL First Division (USL-1), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid in 2009. The club folded soon after the 2009 season. The team played its home games at Bearcat Stadium (renamed Middlefield Cheese Stadium for sponsorship purposes) on the campus of Bedford High School in nearby Bedford, Ohio, where they played in 2009. The team's colors were green, black and white. Their final head coach was Rod Underwood. History The Cleveland City Stars were founded in 2006 as a member of the USL Second Division and played their inaugural season in 2007. The team found success early on, going undefeated for the first nine games before losing to the Charlotte Eagles in the tenth game of the season. FC City Stars
City Stars was a football club from Lahti in Finland. The club was formed in 1982 and their home ground is at the Kisapuiston kenttä. The team last plays in the Kakkonen (Second Division). The Head coach was to this time Petri Järvinen. History City Stars spent many seasons in the lower divisions of the Finnish football league following their formation in 1982. The year 2006 saw a huge change in fortunes when they won Section 2 of the Kolmonen (Helsinki and Uusimaa). The team then won the promotion play-off group to seal promotion. In early 2007 City Stars became part of the Lahti club, FC Kuusysi, and established their own business unit within the organisation. At the same time City Stars received support from Petri Pasanen, the Finnish international, and Kari Kangasaho, the Kuusysi coach. Nairobi City Stars
Nairobi City Stars is an association football club based in Nairobi, Kenya that currently competes in the first tier Kenyan Premier League. History The club was founded in 2003 as World Hope Football Club after a majority of players followed head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno from relegated Kawangware United. The club was formed and owned by World Hope International, a charitable organization. After one season in the Nationwide League, World Hope was promoted to the Kenyan Premier League. In October 2008, the club was bought by Ambassadors in Sport (AIS Kenya), who renamed the club to Nairobi City Stars FC after the 2008 season. After the take over Nairobi City Stars was initially coached by German manager Oliver Page, a former Bundesliga player.
