City Kickboxing
City Kickboxing is a mixed martial arts training gym based in Auckland, New Zealand. The gym features professional fighters who have competed in many major promotions, such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Bellator, ONE Championship, and Dibella Entertainment (Boxing). History Eugene Bareman and Doug Viney founded City Kickboxing in 2007. The duo hoped that having their own premises would allow them to focus more on their training but quickly found the economics of running a gym was all-consuming and soon after transitioned to training professional fighters. Eugene Bareman
Eugene Bareman (born May 21, 1979), is a New Zealand mixed martial arts trainer. He is a former professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer. He is the head trainer and founder of City Kickboxing. Early life Bareman was born in New Zealand to a Dutch father and Samoan mother, as one of three children. He started training in mixed martial arts to get into shape to play rugby. He studied in law school in Auckland, before dropping out in second year to focus on fighting. Career Bareman had an unassuming career as an amateur kickboxer. He started fighting in local kickboxing tournaments in 2001, and mixed martial arts in 2006. As of 5 July 2018, Bareman fought in 48 fights across different disciplines. Brad Riddell (fighter)
Bradley Stephen Riddell (born 30 September 1991) is a New Zealand mixed martial artist and former kickboxer, currently competing in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Background Riddell netted several kickboxing championships around New Zealand during his rise through the regional scene. He also fought professional Muay Thai and kickboxing fights, fighting to a split decision with Glory welterweight champion, Cédric Doumbé, and losing a competitive decision to ONE lightweight champion, Regian Eersel. He also has wins against the likes of famed Aussie kickboxer John Wayne Parr. Kickboxing is a combat sport focused on kicking and punching. The combat takes place in a boxing ring, normally with boxing gloves, mouthguards, shorts, and bare feet to favour the use of kicks. Birthony Katarina Nansen (born 11 January 1987), better known as Baby Nansen, is a New Zealand professional boxer and kickboxer. John Kevin Alipate Ahio (born 20 July 1990), known professionally as Hemi Ahio, is a New Zealand born Tongan professional boxer. He is the current WBC Middle East Heavyweight title.
