''City Dreamers'' is a Canadian documentary film, directed by Joseph Hillel and released in 2018. The film focuses on Phyllis Lambert, Blanche Lemco van Ginkel Blanche Lemco van Ginkel (14 December 1923 – 20 October 2022) was a British-born Canadian architect, city planner, and educator who worked mostly in Montreal and Toronto. She is known for her Modernist designs, as well as for planning Expo 67 ..., Cornelia Oberlander and Denise Scott Brown, four significant innovators in contemporary architecture who were among the first prominent women architects. The film premiered in November 2018 at the Montreal International Documentary Festival, before going into wider release in 2019. Ziad Touma
Ziad Touma is a Lebanese Canadian film director, producer and screenwriter born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1974 and residing in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is the founder of the film, television and digital media production company Couzin Films . Earlier Years Ziad Touma graduated from Concordia University's communications program in 1994. His student film ''"Dinner at Bubby's"'' won best Canadian student film at the Montreal International Short Film Festival in 1995. The Canadian Screen Award for Best Cinematography in a Documentary is an annual award, presented as part of the Canadian Screen Awards program to honour the year's best cinematography in a documentary film. It is presented separately from the Canadian Screen Award for Best Cinematography for feature films. On two prior occasions, at the 1st Genie Awards in 1980 and at the shortlived Bijou Awards in 1981, awards were presented for Best Cinematography in a Documentary (Non-Feature), covering short documentaries and television programs, but not for feature documentaries. The Suburban
''The Suburban'' is the largest English language weekly newspaper in the province of Quebec. It is a community newspaper based in Montreal's Saint-Laurent borough which publishes three geographically based editions containing some shared and some location-specific content, to populations in Montreal's West Island, East End and inner suburbs, as well Laval—Quebec's third-largest city—located just north of Montreal on the adjacent island of ''Île Jésus''. Phyllis Lambert
Phyllis Barbara Lambert, (née Bronfman; born January 24, 1927) is a Canadian architect, philanthropist, and member of the Bronfman family. Life Born in Montreal, Quebec, she studied at The Study, a premier independent school for girls, and was educated at the liberal arts Vassar College ( BA in 1948). At the age of nine she was already committed to sculpture and her drawing skills were commented upon as remarkable early on in life. And at eleven she began exhibiting in annual juried exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Société des Sculpteurs du Canada. While reading architecture history in New York she became engaged with the connections of art and architecture which would last a lifetime. Her family is of Jewish background.
