City Council Of Madrid
The City Council of Madrid ( es, Ayuntamiento de Madrid) is the top-tier administrative and governing body of the Madrid, the capital and biggest city of Spain. The City Council is composed by three bodies; the Mayor who leads the City Council and the executive branch of it, the Governing Council (''Junta de Gobierno'') which is the main body of the executive branch composed by the Mayor and the councillors appointed by him and the Plenary, a democratically elected assembly which represents the people of Madrid. The current Mayor of Madrid is José Luis Martínez-Almeida since June 2019. Ayuntamiento (Spain)
An Ayuntamiento is the body charged with the government and administration of the municipalities in Spain not bound to the regime of ''concejo abierto'' ("open council").). The Ayuntamiento, formed by the Mayor and the Councillors, is charged with the municipal government and administration. An ayuntamiento is formed by a Mayor () and the elected councillors, who compose the plenary (). In municipalities with over 5000 inhabitants, a Government Commission ( or ) is mandatory, while the existence of the body in municipalities under that population is at the discretion of the Plenary or the regulations of the Ayuntamiento. Vicálvaro
Vicálvaro is a district in the southeast of Madrid, Spain. It is named after the former municipality absorbed into the municipality of Madrid in 1951. History When Spain's Civil Guard ( es, Guardia Civil) was established in 1844, the first headquarters of its cavalry was in Vicálvaro. Franco converted it into an artillery barracks for the Brunete Armored Division, Regiment No. 11. The building is now part of the Rey Juan Carlos University. Usera
Usera is a district of Madrid, Spain. It lies on the southern (right) bank of the Manzanares. It is home to about a 10% of the Chinese citizens in the whole Madrid region. History The district was created in the city restructuring that took place on March 28, 1987. The district was formed from the northern part of the Villaverde district and the abolished Mediodia district. The name of the district comes from the Usera neighborhood, located in the north of the district. This neighborhood has its origin in some land located to the north of the municipality of Villaverde that belonged to "Tio Sordillo", a farmer from the municipality whose daughter married . The Colonel proposed that the development of this land would be more profitable than cultivation, so between 1925 and 1930 the land was divided into plots and sold.
