Ciro Gómez Leyva
Ciro Gómez Leyva (born October 10, 1957) is a Mexican news anchor and personality. He hosts the main newscast on Imagen Televisión and a morning radio program, ''Ciro por la Mañana'' (Ciro in the Morning), for Radio Fórmula. Gómez Leyva has also written for newspapers and managed radio and television stations, including the Sistema de Radio y Televisión Mexiquense and Milenio Televisión. Life Born in Mexico City, Gómez studied communications at the Universidad Iberoamericana and earned a master's degree in sociology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In the 1980s, he helped to start the Sistema de Radio y Televisión Mexiquense, with its radio and TV stations serving the State of Mexico; he also held brief stints as an editor at '' Expansión'' and as a special reporter for the '' El Financiero'' and ''Reforma'' newspapers. Imagen Televisión is a national broadcast television network in Mexico, owned by Grupo Imagen. It launched on October 17, 2016, at 8 p.m. History Imagen on television In 2006, Imagen's parent, Grupo Empresarial Ángeles, acquired XHRAE-TV channel 28 in Mexico City from its previous owner, beleaguered businessman Raúl Aréchiga Espinoza, for US$126 million. Imagen already owned radio stations in Mexico City and other major cities nationwide. The next year, GEA relaunched the station as "cadenatres", with the ambition of functioning as Mexico's third broadcast network. Despite this and national basic cable carriage, cadenatres only had a handful of local affiliates. XHTVM-TDT (virtual channel 40) is a television station in Mexico City, owned by Televisora del Valle de México and operated by TV Azteca. It is branded as ''adn40'' and available over the air in much of Mexico on TV Azteca's transmitters. Programming generally consists of news and informational shows. ''Milenio'' is a major national newspaper in Mexico, owned by Grupo Multimedios. It is published in 11 cities across Mexico, including Monterrey, Mexico City, Guadalajara, León, Pachuca, Puebla, Villahermosa, Tampico, Torreón, Toluca, and Xalapa. Grupo Televisa is a Mexican multimedia mass media company. A major Latin American mass media corporation, it often presents itself as the largest producer of Spanish-language content. Denise Maerker Salmón (born January 8, 1965 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican journalist who currently anchors the flagship ''En punto con Denise Maerker'' nightly newscast for Televisa, and has served on the company's Board of Directors since April 2022. She studied economics and social science at the University of Louvain (UCLouvain) in Belgium. She earned a master in political science, and PhD in comparative political systems at the Sorbonne in Paris. After returning to Mexico, Maerker was a research professor and director of communication at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE). Radio Fórmula is a Mexican talk radio network. Founded in 1968, Radio Fórmula programs are broadcast on more than 100 stations in Mexico as well as several stations in the United States. It is the flagship product of Grupo Fórmula, which also owns the TeleFórmula cable news network and PM Onstreet, an outdoor advertising firm. History Grupo Formula traces its beginnings to 1968, when several Mexico City stations were split from Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta’s Radiópolis system. Among these was XEDF-AM 970.
