Circuit Of Wales
Circuit of Wales ( cy, Cylchffordd Cymru) is a failed motor racing circuit and technology park development proposal in Blaenau Gwent on the outskirts of Ebbw Vale, Wales, adjacent to the Neath to Abergavenny Trunk Road (A465). The intention was that it would be funded by private investors and backed by the Welsh Government. In April 2016, BBC News reported that The ''Heads of the Valleys Development Company'', would continue to negotiate with both the financial backers, Aviva, and the Welsh Government. The circuit was designed to FIA and FIM standards with the aim of hosting events such as the MotoGP, Superbike World Championship, Motocross World Championship, British GT Championship, British Touring Car Championship and the World Touring Car Championship. Ebbw Vale
Ebbw Vale (; cy, Glynebwy) is a town at the head of the valley formed by the Ebbw Fawr tributary of the Ebbw River in Wales. It is the largest town and the administrative centre of Blaenau Gwent county borough. The Ebbw Vale and Brynmawr conurbation has a population of roughly 33,000. It has direct access to the dualled A465 Heads of the Valleys trunk road and borders the Brecon Beacons National Park. World Touring Car Championship
The FIA World Touring Car Championship was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It has had several different incarnations, including a single season in 1987 as the World Touring Car Championship and most recently a world championship (WTCC) that has run between 2005 and 2017. Following the 2017 season, an agreement was reached for the FIA WTCC to become FIA WTCR and use the TCR technical regulations. Lake Torrent
Lake Torrent Motorsport Centre is a failed project to create a new, purpose-built racing circuit for motorsports located in Coalisland, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The name is shared with the nearby Torrent River. Under development from September 2017, the project made little progress and was placed into administration in late 2018, with the site available to purchase from receivers as a commercial development opportunity in 2019. The project's failure was in part blamed on the below-ground works needed to fill and stabilise many historic mine working excavations. The anticipated completion date for phase-one involving the circuit and infrastructure buildings was 2019. The site is situated on disused clay pits, previously providing raw materials for brick production, in an area traditionally known for coal mining. Thomas Alun Rhys Davies (born 12 February 1964) is a Welsh Labour and Co-operative party politician serving as the Member of the Senedd (MS) for Blaenau Gwent since 2011, and formerly Mid and West Wales from 2007 to 2011. Gwent Wildlife Trust ( cy, Ymddiriedolaeth Natur Gwent) (GWT) is a wildlife trust covering the area between the lower Wye and Rhymney rivers which forms the vice county of Monmouthshire in south-east Wales. It is a registered charity and a member of the Wildlife Trusts Partnership. History Its origins lie in the Monmouthshire Naturalists Trust, formed in 1963. Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council ( cy, Cyngor bwrdeistref Sirol Blaenau Gwent) is the governing body for Blaenau Gwent, one of the Subdivisions of Wales, Principal Areas of Wales.
