Wim Umboh
Ahmad Salim (26 March 1933 – 24 January 1996), better known by his birth name Wim Umboh but also known by the Chinese name Liem Yan Yung, was an Indonesian director who is best known for his melodramatic romances. Born in North Sulawesi, Umboh was orphaned at the age of eight and later adopted by a Chinese-Indonesian doctor. After high school, he moved to Jakarta and found work at Golden Arrow Studios as a janitor and, later, translator. In 1955 he made his screen debut as a director with ' (''Behind the Walls''). During his career, which spanned more than forty years, Umboh directed close to fifty movies, which garnered 29 Citra Awards from the Indonesian Film Festival. He was diagnosed with liver cancer in 1978 but, after recovering, he continued to work until his death from complications of diabetes and a stroke. Umboh was married three times and had two children. Kanjeng Raden Ayu Soemarini Soerjosoemarno, now known as Marini Abdullah Burhan or simply Marini or Marini Sardi (born 2 November 1947) is an Indonesian singer and actress who has performed on stage and TV screens since the 1960s. She was born to Indonesian father Kanjeng Raden Mas Arjo Soetarjo Soerjosoemarno and Dutch mother Dolly Zegerius. She has recorded dozens of albums, both recorded in Indonesia and abroad for Polydor, Philips and EMI. Biography Marini was born in Malang, East Java, on 2 November 1947, the daughter of a Javanese nobleman, Kanjeng Raden Mas Arjo Soetarjo Soerjosoemarno, and a Dutch-Jewish woman, Dolly Zegerius. She completed a senior high school education. In 1962, during the lead-up to the Games of the New Emerging Forces, when her uncle bought her the opportunity to sing two songs on TVRI. Ratne (; ; yi, ראטנא ''Ratno'') is an urban settlement (town) in Volyn Oblast (province), located in the historic region of the Volhynia. Population: History Ratne is mentioned in old Ruthenian documents at the end of 12th - beginning of 13th centuries. It served as a border town where Great Prince kept his garrison (''rat''). The town was devastated during the Mongol invasion. In the 13th century the town housed the Ratne monastery whose hegumen was Peter of Moscow.
