Cinquemilaquarantatre
''Cinquemilaquarantatre'' is an album released in June 1972 by Italian singer Mina. Its title (in english, "Five Thousand and Forty Three") is a reference to the catalog number of the disc (PDU PLD 5043). Disc Packaging The album in its original vinyl release came in green, red, blue, purple, and brown versions of the cover made with three separate inserts that, when closed, would form the image of the cover. For the later digital reprint and online distribution, a simple green rendition was chosen. Cassette (PMA 543) and stereo versions (P8A 300843) used further colourings not used for the original vinyl. The Spanish edition (Odean J 064-93.937) has a completely different cover. Chart Performance Mina's self titled album, Mina having released the year before, was still number 1 on Italian charts as Cinquemilaquarantatre released. "Parole parole" () is a duet song originally performed by Italian singer Mina (Italian singer), Mina and actor Alberto Lupo. It was released in April 1972, by PDU and later was included on Minas's twenty-first studio album ''Cinquemilaquarantatre'' (1972). The song was written by Gianni Ferrio, Leo Chiosso and Giancarlo Del Re. In 1973, Dalida and Alain Delon recorded the song in French as "Paroles, paroles", that became an international hit and a Standard (music), standard in France. Original version The lyrics were written by Leo Chiosso and Giancarlo Del Re, the authors of the Italian ''Teatro 10'' series of TV variety nights. Tullio De Piscopo (born 24 February 1946 in Naples, Italy) is an Italian drummer, percussionist and singer- songwriter. De Piscopo was born in Naples. His father was an orchestra percussionist. In 1969 he moved to Turin and two years later he moved to Milan, where he joined the Franco Cerri quintet. He later began a successful career as session drummer, playing with many international artists, including Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Stéphane Grappelli, Massimo Urbani, Gil Evans, Slide Hampton, Don Costa, Tony Scott, Ástor Piazzolla, Aldemaro Romero, Gato Barbieri, Eumir Deodato, Mina, Lucio Dalla, Franco Battiato, Fabrizio De André, Pino Daniele, Manu Chao and others. Leo Chiosso
Leo Chiosso (b. Turin, 8 August 1920 – d. Chieri, Italy, 26 November 2006) was an Italian lyricist mostly known for his work with Fred Buscaglione. They formed a songwriting duo who produced about forty songs and created Buscaglione's public persona, a humorous tough guy with a penchant for whisky and women. Chiosso and Buscaglione met in 1938 in the night-club scene of Turin, hometown to both of them. At that time, Chiosso was a university student, while Buscaglione eked out a living as a jazz singer and musician in those clubs. Their friendship was abruptly interrupted by World War II. Chiosso was deported to Poland, while Buscaglione ended up in a US internment camp in Sardinia. Chiosso had news about his friend's fate thanks to the radio - Buscaglione had joined the allied radio station orchestra in Cagliari, and Chiosso knew he was still alive when he heard him playing.
