Baroque Pop
Baroque pop (sometimes called baroque rock) is a fusion genre that combines rock music with particular elements of classical music. It emerged in the mid 1960s as artists pursued a majestic, orchestral sound and is identifiable for its appropriation of Baroque compositional styles (contrapuntal melodies and functional harmony patterns) and dramatic or melancholic gestures. Sanctuary Records Group Limited was a record label based in the United Kingdom and is as of 2013 a subsidiary of BMG Rights Management solely for reissues. ''Va Va Voom'' is the debut album by the English indie rock band Cinerama, released in 1998. The album was dedicated to the memory of Ian Richard Collinson. The album peaked at No. 93 on the UK Albums Chart. Production ''Va Va Voom'' was produced by Dare Mason and David Gedge. Gedge was interested in a more orchestral sound than he had employed with the Wedding Present; he was able to accomplish it due to technological advances in recording software.
