Cinelicious Pics
Cinelicious Pics is a distribution wing of the post-production company Cinelicious, launched by Paul Korver and Dennis Bartok, former American Cinematheque head programmer. The company was designed to distribute new U.S. and foreign independent features and documentaries. In November 2014, the company announced it would release Eiichi Yamamoto's cult-classic ''Kanashimi no Belladonna'' (''Belladonna of Sadness'') as its first restoration and re-release, with restoration work completed in-house. ''LA Weekly'' announced Cinelicious Pics as Best Indie Film Distributor of 2015. Gangs Of Wasseypur
''Gangs of Wasseypur'' is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language two-part crime film produced and directed by Anurag Kashyap, and written by Kashyap and Zeishan Quadri. Centered on the coal mafia (Mafia Raj) of Dhanbad, and the underlying power struggles, politics and vengeance between three crime families, the film has an ensemble cast, with Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chadda, Huma Qureshi and Tigmanshu Dhulia in the major roles. Its story spans 68 years from 1941 to 2009. Both parts were originally shot as a single film measuring a total of 321 minutes and screened at the 2012 Cannes Directors' Fortnight, but, since no Indian theatre would volunteer to screen a more-than-five-hour film, it was split into two parts for that market. Leslie Stevens
Leslie Clark Stevens IV (February 3, 1924 – April 24, 1998) was an American producer, writer, and director. He created two television series for the ABC network, '' The Outer Limits'' (1963–1965) and '' Stoney Burke'' (1962–63), and ''Search'' (1972–73) for NBC. Stevens was the director of the horror film ''Incubus'' (1966), which stars William Shatner, and was the second film to use the Esperanto language. Toshio Matsumoto
(25 March 1932 – 12 April 2017) was a Japanese film director and video artist. Biography Matsumoto was born in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan and graduated from Tokyo University in 1955. His first short was '' Ginrin'', which he made in 1955. His most famous film is ''Funeral Parade of Roses'' (''Bara no soretsu''). The film was loosely inspired by '' Oedipus Rex'', featuring a transvestite (portrayed by Peter) trying to move up in the world of Tokyo Hostess clubs. Funeral Parade Of Roses
is a 1969 Japanese drama art film directed and written by Toshio Matsumoto, loosely adapted from ''Oedipus Rex'' and set in the underground gay culture of 1960s Tokyo. It stars Peter as the protagonist, a young transgender woman, and features Osamu Ogasawara, Yoshio Tsuchiya and Emiko Azuma. A product of the Japanese New Wave, the film combines elements of arthouse, documentary and experimental cinema, and is thought to have influenced Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of Anthony Burgess' novel ''A Clockwork Orange'' (1971) (although many of the points of comparison can also be found in earlier movies such as Rainer Werner Fassbinder's '' Love Is Colder Than Death''). Eiichi Yamamoto
was a Japanese film director and screenwriter of anime. He is known for directing the Animerama film series conceived by Osamu Tezuka. Yamamoto directed ten films between 1962 and 1986. His 1973 film ''Kanashimi no Belladonna'' was entered into the 23rd Berlin International Film Festival. Besides film work, Yamamoto also served as screenwriter on the anime television series ''Space Battleship Yamato'' and wrote the screenplay for its 1977 film adaptation. Ragnar Bragason (born 15 September 1971) is an Icelandic film director, screenwriter and producer. Life and career Droplaug was born in Súðavík, Iceland. He is best known for his films '' Börn'' (''Children'') and ''Foreldrar'' (''Parents''), both Edda Award winners, and the popular TV series ''Næturvaktin'' (''The Night Shift''), ''Dagvaktin'' (''The Day Shift''), and ''Fangavaktin'' (''The Prison Shift'').
