Cincinnatus Town
Cincinnatus Town was initially a Christian neighborhood in Jamshed Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The planners Cincinnatus Fabian D'Abreo, Pedro D'Souza and his colleague George Britto, the town planners designed Cincinnatus Town, with its front on Britto Road and the back on Seth Mahomed Ali Habib Road. D'Souza was a brilliant engineer who studied in St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, St. Xavier's College in Bombay. He died on December 31, 1912. He was buried in the Christian Cemetery Gora Qabaristan, Karachi, Gora Kabristan in Karachi. The city honoured the planners by naming Pedro D'Souza road and Britto Road after them. Jamshed Town
Jamshed Town ( sd, جمشيد ٽائون , ur, ) lies in the central part of Karachi, Pakistan. To the northwest is Liaquatabad Town across the Lyari River, while to the east is Gulshan Town and to the southeast is Korangi Town across the Malir River. Jamshed is bordered by Karachi Cantonment and Clifton Cantonment to the west. The population of Jamshed Town was estimated to be about 730,000 at the 1998 census, of which 99% are Muslim. Urdu speaking constitute an overwhelming majority of the population. History Jamshed Town was named after Jamshed Nusserwanjee Mehta. Jufelhurst School
Jufelhurst School, also known as Jufelhurst Government School, is a school located in Karachi, Pakistan. It was founded by Sybil D'Abreo in 1931. The school building is spread on approximately an acre of land and has two buildings, a playground, and a residence for the principal of the school. The building of Jufelhurst School is nestled between almond trees and new high-rise buildings in the narrow streets of Cincinnatus Town (now part of Garden East), Soldier Bazaar. History The school was founded by Sybil D'Abreo, a Goan woman, in 1931 in her home located in Cincinnatus Town. Garden East
Garden East ( ur, گارڈ ن ایسٹ ) is a neighborhood in Karachi East district of Karachi, Pakistan. It is administered as part of Jamshed Town, which was disbanded in 2011 but later restored in early 2022. This area surrounds the Karachi Zoological Gardens (former name Gandhi Garden) hence it is popularly known as Gardens. The area has a large presence of Ismailis due to their Jama'at Khana (or prayer hall) being located there. The area was predominantly residential but over the last few years, smaller commercial areas have grown to cater needs of residents.
