Cincinnati Marlins
The Cincinnati Marlins are a non-profit, USA Swimming–affiliated swim team based in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States serving Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Founded in 1961, the team competes at the elementary school, high school, and college levels. The Marlins operate three training facilitiesNorthern Kentucky Universityusing the NK Five Seasons Sports Club, and its headquarters at Keating Natatorium on the campus of St. Xavier High School in Finneytown, Ohio. The organization was designated a Gold Medal Club by USA Swimming 2006 - 2008 but no longer has that recognition. It is designated a Level 4 club, which is the highest level attainable in the USA Swimming's Club Recognition Program in 2008. Facilities Keating Natatorium at St. Xavier High School is a 50-meter indoor facility which can be divided into two 25-yard pools. The 1972 Summer Olympics were held in Munich, West Germany, 29 events in swimming were contested. There was a total of 532 participants from 52 countries competing. Perhaps the most spectacular athletic events were in swimming. Mark Spitz had a remarkable run, competing in seven events, winning seven Olympic titles and setting seven world records. Stephanie Elkins
Stephanie W. Elkins (born 1963) is an American former competition swimmer who won a gold medal in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay at the 1978 World Aquatics Championships, setting a new world record. She won another gold medal in the same event at the 1979 Pan American Games. She qualified for the 1980 Summer Olympics, again in the 4×100-meter freestyle, but could not participate due to the boycott of the Moscow Olympics led by the United States. Elkins attended Stanford University, and swam for the Stanford Cardinal swimming and diving team in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition. She graduated from Stanford with a bachelor's degree in organizational behavior, and since 1985 worked in sale and leasing of office and R&D buildings. Nathaniel James Dusing (born November 25, 1978) is an American former competition swimming (sport), swimmer, Olympic medalist, and world champion. Education Dusing won six swimming state championships for Covington Catholic High School before graduating in 1997. The later swam for the University of Texas. Swimming Dusing represented the United States at two consecutive Summer Olympics. At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, he earned a silver medal by swimming for the second-place U.S. team in the preliminary heats of the men's 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
