Delhi Township, Hamilton County, Ohio
Delhi Township dÉl.haÉȘis one of the twelve townships of Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The 2010 census found 29,510 people in the township. It is the only Delhi Township statewide. History The area of modern-day Delhi Township was first settled by Americans in 1789, along with the founding of the village of South Bend. Delhi was then incorporated as a township in 1816. The name is pronounced "DEL-high", as opposed to how its namesake in India is pronounced "Dell-Hee". Sedam Springhouse The Sedam Springhouse, which may date back to the 1790s, is one of the oldest buildings in the township. Now known as the Delhi Springhouse, the structure stands on land near the stone house Colonel Cornelius Ryker Sedam built in 1796. The house no longer exists, but the springhouse has been restored. School For Creative And Performing Arts
The School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) is a magnet arts school in Cincinnati in the US state of Ohio, and part of the Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS). SCPA was founded in 1973 as one of the first magnet schools in Cincinnati and became the first school in the country to combine a full range of arts studies with a complete college-preparatory academic program for elementary through high school students. Of the approximately 350 arts schools in the United States, SCPA is one of the oldest and has been cited as a model for both racial integration and for arts programs in over 100 cities. History The first Hughes High School was established in 1853 on property on Fifth and Mound streets.
