Annalisa Cima
Eugenio Montale (; 12 October 1896 – 12 September 1981) was an Italian poet, prose writer, editor and translator, and recipient of the 1975 Nobel Prize in Literature. Life and works Early years Montale was born in Genoa. His family were chemical products traders (his father supplied Italo Svevo's firm). The poet's niece, Bianca Montale, in her ''Cronaca famigliare'' ("Family Chronicle") of 1986 portrays the family's common characteristics as "nervous fragility, shyness, concision in speaking, a tendency to see the worst in every event, a certain sense of humour". Montale was the youngest of six sons. He recalled: We were a large family. My brothers went to the ''scagno'' ["office" in Genoese]. Giovanni Paolo Cima
Giovanni Paolo Cima (c. 1570 – 1630) was an Italian composer and organist in the early Baroque era. He was a contemporary of Claudio Monteverdi and Girolamo Frescobaldi, though not as well known (then or now) as either of those men. Cima came from a family of musicians and was a leading musical figure in Milan. From 1595 he served as director of music and organist at the chapel of Santa Maria presso San Celso in Milan. His ''Concerti ecclesiastici'', a collection which also includes a mass, two Magnificat settings, and six sonatas for 2, 3, and 4 instruments, were published in 1610. Cima's church music was generally conservative, but his instrumental works were more innovative. Michael J. Cima is an American materials scientist and engineer and the David Koch, David H. Koch Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Cima was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2011 for innovations in rapid prototyping, high-temperature superconductors, and biomedical device technology. His current research focuses on nano-based drugs, detection and monitoring, and personalized medicine. Cima earned a B.S. in chemistry in 1982 (Phi Beta Kappa) and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering in 1986, both from the University of California, Berkeley.
