Cigano (film)
''Gypsy'' is a short feature film directed by David Bonneville. It premiered at Locarno and was SXSW Grand Jury Award nominee. The film was funded by the ICA - Portuguese Film Institute / RTP and produced by Bárbara Valentina and Fernando Vendrell. The film tells us the story of a wealthy young man called Sebastian. He finds out he has a flat tyre and ends up accepting help from a Gypsy passer-by. In return Sebastian will have to give him a ride home... but they won't reach their expected destination. David Bonneville
David Bonneville (Porto, 1978) is a Portuguese film director and screenwriter of French and English descent. Education and background Bonneville received the University of Westminster academic Excellence scholarship for his MA in Screenwriting & Producing. He holds a Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin Directing Diploma in the context of the Gulbenkian Foundation Arts Programme. David has also completed a BA (Hons) Sound & Image (first class degree), having studied at the Catholic University of Portugal and the Pompeu Fabra University. David speaks six languages: Portuguese, Spanish, and English fluently, also French, elementary Italian and Catalan. David has been a mentor and lecturer at the Masaryk University, The Actors Centre, University of Westminster and several other national and international structures. Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF)
The Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) is an international film festival which takes place annually in York, England, at the beginning of November. Founded in 2011, it is a celebration of independent film from around the world, and an outlet for supporting and championing filmmaking. The Romani in Spain, generally known by the exonym () or the endonym ''Calé'', belong to the Romani people#Population and subgroups, Iberian Cale Romani subgroup, with smaller populations in Portugal (known as ) and in Southern France. Their sense of identity and cohesion stems from their shared value system, expressed among the as the ('Gypsy laws'). Brest European Short Film Festival
The Brest European Short Film Festival (French: Festival européen du film court de Brest) is a film festival dedicated to short films, happening every year in Brest, in the Brittany region in France. It has been organized by the Côte Ouest Association since 1987 and is open to everyone, school groups and professionals.
