Denis of Portugal (Portuguese: 'Dinis' or 'Diniz' ), occasionally surnamed Castro (1353 – ), was an infante of Portugal. He was the son of Portuguese King Peter I and a Galician noblewoman named Inês de Castro who had arrived in Portugal as a maid of princess Constance of Castile, recently married to Pedro I (Heir Prince at the time). Abdón Cifuentes
Abdón Cifuentes Espinoza, GCSG (16 May 1835 - 14 April 1928) was one of Chile's most significant Catholic politicians in the nineteenth century. He was the son of José Maria Cifuentes Olivares and Paula Espinoza Pinto born in San Felipe, Chile. He married Luz Gómez, with whom he fathered 13 children. Cifuentes attended the '' Instituto Nacional'' (National Institute) and then studied law at the ''Universidad de Chile'' (University of Chile), receiving his law degree in 1861. Cifuentes went on to become a professor at the ''Colegio San Luis'' and then the ''Instituto Nacional''. In 1882, he was named a member of the Faculty of Philosophy & Humanities of the ''Universidad de Chile'', and in 1889 he became professor of constitutional rights at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. María Cristina Cifuentes Cuencas (born 1 July 1964) is a former Spanish politician from the People's Party. She was the President of the Community of Madrid from 24 June 2015 to her 25 April 2018 resignation. Hugo Gilberto Cifuentes Navarro ( Otavalo - Ecuador, 1923 - Quito - Ecuador, 2000) was a pioneering Latin American photographer. Cifuentes began studying drawing and painting in the 1940s, before turning to photography. Cifuentes received his first prize for photographic composition in 1949. In the 1960s, Cifuentes joined VAN (Vanguardia Artística Nacional) — a group of progressive Informalist artists, founded by Enrique Tábara, who broke prevailing art tradition and found inspiration from the Constructivist Movement, Surrealist Movement and Pre-Columbian art. VAN strongly opposed Communist political views and searched for new artistic pathways while staying connected to their roots. Inés Lucia Cifuentes (April 26, 1954 – December 16, 2013) was an English-born American seismologist and educator. From 1994 to 2005, she was director of the Carnegie Academy for Science Education. Early life Born in London, Inés Cifuentes was the child of Ecuadorian father and American mother. Her father was born in Quito, Ecuador, whereas her mother was born in New York City.
