The Cicare CH-14 ''Aguilucho'' (Spanish for "Little Eagle" or "Harrier") is a light experimental helicopter manufactured by Cicaré Helicópteros of Argentina. The helicopter is intended for use in civil, security and military roles. Design and development In 2005, the Argentine Army Aviation commissioned Augusto Cicaré to build a light helicopter. Cicaré S.A. (originally Cicaré Aeronáutica S.A. and later Cicaré Helicópteros S.A.) is an Argentine helicopter manufacturer founded by Augusto Cicaré in Saladillo, Buenos Aires Province in the 1970s to develop aircraft of his own design. A number of prototypes were constructed, including one under contract from the Argentine Air Force, but no great successes were achieved until the CH-7 light sporting helicopter in the 1990s. In March 2007, the first prototype of a Cicaré CH-14, a light helicopter for the Argentine Army, was ready. It is being produced in two versions: a light attack/recon version and a maritime patrol/anti-ship version. The IAR 316 is a Romanian license-built Aérospatiale SA 316B Alouette III manufactured by Industria Aeronautică Română (IAR). Design and development IAR 316 IAR began manufacturing the IAR 316 in 1971 at its plant near Brașov, Romania. Production ended in 1987. 250 units were built, 125 of those were built for the Military of Romania, which still uses it to this day in a training capacity. Some IAR 316s were operated in the civilian role in Romania and others were exported to various nations, including Pakistan, Angola, and Guinea. Atlas XH-1 Alpha
The Atlas XH-1 Alpha is a prototype attack helicopter built by Atlas Aviation (now Denel) of South Africa, which used it as a concept demonstrator for the then-planned Rooivalk project. Development It was developed from an Aérospatiale Alouette III airframe, retaining that helicopter's engine and dynamic components, but replacing the original cockpit with a stepped tandem one, adding a 20 mm cannon under the chin and converting the undercarriage to tail-dragger configuration. The XH-1 first flew on 3 February 1985,''Air International'' June 1986, p. 599. and soon embarked on a rigorous flight test program to examine the feasibility of a dedicated attack helicopter in southern African conditions.
