2023 Donegal Senior Football Championship
The 2023 Donegal Senior Football Championship was the 101st official edition of Donegal GAA's premier Gaelic football tournament for senior graded clubs in County Donegal. 16 teams competed, with the winner representing Donegal in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. Naomh Conaill was defending champion after defeating St Eunan's in the 2022 final. Naomh Conaill again advanced to the 2023 final, where the club defeated Gaoth Dobhair to retain the title. Cloich Cheann Fhaola's home defeat of Milford marked the first time in twelve years that the club had won a senior championship game. Two weeks after that, the club defeated Four Masters as well. The 2016 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 129th edition of the GAA's premier inter-county gaelic football tournament since its establishment in 1887. 33 teams took part. 31 of the 32 Counties of Ireland participated, with Kilkenny, as in previous years, declining to take part. Stephen McMenamin (born 1997/8) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Red Hughs and the Donegal county team. Playing career County senior manager Rory Gallagher called McMenamin up ahead of the 2016 season as one of twelve new recruits, alongside such players as Eoghan Bán Gallagher, Caolan McGonagle and Ciarán Thompson. Under the management of Declan Bonner, McMenamin started the opening fixture of the 2018 National Football League against Kerry in Killarney. He also started the next game against Galway. Caolan McGonagle (born 1995/6) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Buncrana and the Donegal county team. Playing career Club McGonagle's club Buncrana was relegated to the Donegal Junior Football Championship. However, he led the club back to the Donegal Intermediate Football Championship in 2019. Rory Gallagher (Gaelic Footballer)
Rory Gallagher (born 22 August 1978) is a Gaelic football manager and former player. Gallagher played for the Fermanagh and Cavan county teams, as well as several club teams, including his home club Erne Gaels, as well as Dublin side St Brigid's and Antrim's St Gall's. He was a selector for the Donegal county team during their 2012 Championship success, acting as number two to Jim McGuinness. He left the Donegal panel after the 2013 championship but later returned as Jim McGuinness's successor in October 2014, when McGuinness departed following the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final.
