Ciarán Brady
Ciarán Brady is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays as a wing back for the Cavan county team. He plays his club football with Arva. Playing career Club Brady joined the Arva club at a young age and played with the club at all age levels. Due to low numbers, they often amalgamated with neighbouring club Killeshandra at underage level. The St Joseph's amalgamation reached the final of the Cavan Minor Football Championship in 2010, losing to Cavan Gaels after a replay. Brady later joined the Arva senior team, and the club reached the final of the Cavan Junior Football Championship in 2013. Arva lost the final by a point to Kill Shamrocks. Arva were back in the junior final in 2014. Brady lined out at centre back in Arva's 2–11 to 0–8 win over Ballymachugh. Cavan
Cavan ( ; ) is the county town of County Cavan in Ireland. The town lies in Ulster, near the border with County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. The town is bypassed by the main N3 road that links Dublin (to the south) with Enniskillen, Ballyshannon and Donegal Town (to the north). History Gaelic Cavan 1300–1607 Cavan was founded by the Irish clan chief and Lord of East Breifne, Giolla Íosa Ruadh O’Reilly, between 1300 and his death in 1330. During his lordship, a friary run by the Dominican Order was established close to the O’Reilly stronghold at Tullymongan and was at the centre of the settlement close to a crossing over the river and to the town's marketplace. Lisnaskea Emmetts GAC
Lisnaskea Emmetts is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Lisnaskea, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. History Lisnaskea have won the Fermanagh Senior Football Championship on 20 occasions, with the most recent coming in 1994. Lisnaskea defeated Irvinestown to claim the Fermanagh Intermediate title in 2010, and followed this up with wins over Tullylish and Rasharkin to reach the Ulster final. Lisnaskea faced Monaghan's Doohamlet in the Ulster Intermediate final on 11 December 2010. A 0–13 to 1–7 win made Lisnaskea the first Fermanagh club to win a provincial title. They later defeated Kildare's Ballymore Eustace on 30 January 2011 to reach the All-Ireland final. GAA GPA All Stars Awards
The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association. Each player who receives a nomination is given a medallion marking the milestone. It is considered "the most coveted sporting award scheme in the country". Cavan GAA
The Cavan County Board ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae an Chabháin) or Cavan GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Cavan. The County Board is responsible for preparing the Cavan county teams in the various Gaelic sporting codes; football, hurling, camogie and handball. The county football team won 5 All-Ireland Senior Football Championships before going into decline after 1970. Dara McVeety
Dara McVeety (born 22 September 1993) in an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Crosserlough club and the Cavan county team. Playing career Club On 2 October 2011, Crosserlough faced Drumgoon in the Cavan Intermediate final. McVeety came on as a substitute as Crosserlough lost out by a single point McVeety captained Crosserlough in 2018 as they reached the final of the Cavan Senior Football Championship. On 21 October, McVeety started at centre back in his first senior county final, where Crosserlough faced Castlerahan. Crosserlough led by six at one stage, but Castlerahan came back to win the final by a point. Crosserlough won their first championship in 48 years in 2020, but McVeety was not part of that success as he was in Australia. He transferred back to Crosserlough in 2022. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. It serves as both the principal national stadium of Ireland and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Since 1891 the site has been used by the GAA to host Gaelic sports, including the annual All-Ireland in Gaelic football and hurling.
