Cian Dillon
Cian Dillon (born 30 October 1988) is an Irish hurler who plays for club side Crusheen. He usually plays as a left corner-back, but can also be deployed as a full-back. Dillon was a member of the Clare senior hurling team that won the 2013 All-Ireland Championship. Career Dillon first came to prominence as a hurler at juvenile and underage levels with the Crusheen club, however, it was as a member of the club's senior hurling team that he has enjoyed his greatest successes. He won back-to-back Clare Championship titles in 2010 and 2011. Dillon first played for Clare as a member of the minor team in 2006, before later playing at full-back on Clare's All-Ireland Under-21 Championship-winning team in 2009. He made his first appearance with the Clare senior team in 2010. Dillon won an All-Ireland Championship medal in 2013, when Clare claimed the title for the first time in 16 years. Ennis
Ennis () is the county town of County Clare, in the mid-west of Ireland. The town lies on the River Fergus, north of where the river widens and enters the Shannon Estuary. Ennis is the largest town in County Clare, with a population of 25,276, making it the 6th largest town, and 12th largest urban settlement, as of 2016. The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition in Ireland, and has been contested every year except one since 1887. Crusheen Hurlers
Crusheen () is a small village in County Clare, Ireland, in the civil parish of Crusheen (Inchicronan). Location The village is 10 kilometres northeast of Ennis on the R458 road to Gort. It is in the parish of Crusheen (Inchicronan) in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe. The parish church of St Cronan is in Crusheen. The village consists of the church, Garda station, two public houses, post office, a supermarket, petrol station, funeral home. The local GAA club is Crusheen GAA. There is also a community centre and a national (primary) school. Crusheen National School, also known as Inchicronan Central National School, had an enrollment of 147 pupils as of September 2021. Munster Under-21 Hurling Championship
The Munster GAA Hurling Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Munster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Munster. The championship was contested as the Munster Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2018 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2019. It is sponsored by Bord Gáis Energy. The final, currently held in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during a three-week period, and the results determine which team receives the J. J. 2012 National Hurling League
The 2012 National Hurling League commenced in February 2012. 34 GAA county hurling teams: 32 from Ireland (including Fingal but not Cavan), London and Warwickshire, contested it. On 6 May Kilkenny defeated Cork in the final to win their 15th NHL title, moving them to second place in the all-time roll of honour, behind Tipperary who have won 19 Leagues. Format The 2012 format was originally to consist of five divisions: Divisions 1 and 2 having eight teams in each, Division 3A six, Division 3B seven, and six teams in Division 4. However, this was controversially altered to a system of six divisions, with six teams in divisions 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 3A, and four in division 3B. This meant that many counties were effectively relegated to a lower division. The 2016 National Hurling League was the 85th season of the National Hurling League for inter-county hurling teams since its establishment in 1925. The fixtures were announced on 16 November 2015. The season began on 13 February 2016, and finished on 8 May 2016. Waterford came into the season as defending champions of the 2015 season. Kerry entered Division 1 as the promoted team from the 2015 season. Clare won the title for the first time since 1978 after a 1-23 to 2-19 win against Waterford in a replay. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league.
