Fukuoka Kyuden Kinen Gymnasium
is a sports and entertainment facility in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, Japan. The building was opened by Kyushu Electric Power in 1964, and transferred to the city of Fukuoka in 2003, with the land loaned at no cost. It has a seating capacity of 1,992, with provision for a further 380 standing spectators. In April 2013, Kyushu Electric Power announced that it was planning to sell the site to make up for losses accrued due to the shutdown of its nuclear reactors following the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The is the 88th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The temple serves more than 7,700 members in Kyūshū, Okinawa, Yamaguchi, Hiroshima and Shikoku History Plans to build a temple in Fukuoka were announced on May 7, 1998. It is the second temple in Japan, the first being dedicated in Tokyo in 1980. Kōki Hirota
was a Japanese diplomat and politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1936 to 1937. Originally his name was . He was executed for war crimes committed during the Second Sino-Japanese War at the Tokyo Trials. Early life Hirota was born on 14 February 1878, in in what is now part of Chūō-ku, Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture, to stonemason Hirota Tokubei (廣田 徳平). His father had been adopted into the Hirota family of stonemasons. Tokubei married Take (タケ), a daughter of the president of a Japanese noodle company. On 14 February 1878, the couple had a son, whom Tokubei named . They later had three more children.
