Collen Mmotla (born 4 June 1990) is a South African DJ and music producer. Born and raised Diphale, Burgersfort, Chyma started his musical career in early 2000's as a pianist prior becoming a DJ. His third studio album ''Musique'' (2022), debuted number one in South Africa. Education After completed his matric in 2007, he attended University of Technology studying Analytical Chemistry. He also attended Boston College studied media and graduated in 2013. Career Chymamusique started his music career in 2000 as a gospel music, gospel and jazz pianist. He later developed an interest in house music in 2005 and started producing it in 2006. He released his first online single in 2010. He founded and manages "Chymamusique Records" and is signed to the record labels House Afrika & Soul Candi. He was a Mofunk Records member from 2010 to 2013. "Jika" (Zulu: "twist") is a song by South African house band Mi Casa. It was released as the lead single from their second studio album, ''Su Casa'' (2013). The song was the most played song for 12 straight weeks on several radio stations in South Africa, including Metro FM, 5FM, YFM, Ukhozi FM, Highveld Studio, and Gagasi 99.5 FM. It peaked at number 1 on BBC Radio 1Xtra, a digital radio station in the United Kingdom. Burgersfort
Burgersfort is located in the valley of the Spekboom River at the edge of the Bushveld Complex in the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, near the border of the two provinces Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The town was named after a hexagonal fort built there during the 1876-77 Second War against the Bapedi of Chief Sekhukhune, and was named after President TF Burgers of the ZAR. South African Music Awards
The South African Music Awards (often simply the SAMAs) are the Recording Industry of South Africa's music industry awards, established in 1995. The ceremony is held annually, usually in late April or May, with the judging process starting in November of the previous year. The nominations are typically announced at the end of March. The winners receive a gold-plated statuette called a SAMA. The show has mostly been held at the Super Bowl in Sun City, with the exception of three years, and broadcast live on national broadcaster, SABC. SABC 1
SABC 1 is a South African public television network operated by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) which carries programming in English and Nguni. It was created in 1996, after the SABC restructured its television channels. The 15th installment of the annual Metro FM Music Awards is an award ceremony that celebrates excellence in the South African music industry by honouring musicians who did exceedingly well in their field throughout 2015. Mi Casa
Mi Casa is a house trio based in Johannesburg, South Africa and consisting of three members, Dr. Duda (producer and pianist), J'Something (vocalist and guitarist), and Mo-T (trumpeter). The band was formed in early 2011 in Johannesburg when all three future members were at a night lounge and decided to perform together. A few months later, they released an album titled ''Micasa Music'', which went gold certification quickly and won several awards at the 18th Annual MTN South Africa Music Awards in 2012.
