Chuya Belki
Chuya Belki (russian: Чуйские белки, ''Chuyskye byelki'') is a mountainous region in the Altai, Altai Republic, Russia. There are a number of glaciers on the northern part of the slopes of the main ridges. The Chuya Belki are named after the Chuya River and after their "Belki" type of ridges. Altai Mountains
The Altai Mountains (), also spelled Altay Mountains, are a mountain range in Central Asia, Central and East Asia, where Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan converge, and where the rivers Irtysh and Ob River, Ob have their headwaters. The massif merges with the Sayan Mountains in the northeast, and gradually becomes lower in the southeast, where it merges into the high plateau of the Gobi Desert. It spans from about 45° to 52° N and from about 84° to 99° E. The region is inhabited by a sparse but ethnically diverse population, including Russian people, Russians, Kazakh people, Kazakhs, Altai people, Altais, Mongol people, Mongols and Volga Germans, though predominantly represented by indigenous ethnic minorities of semi-nomadic stock. South Siberian Mountains
The South Siberian Mountains ( rus, Южно-Сибирские горы) are one of the largest mountain systems of the Russian Federation. The total area of the system of mountain ranges is more than 1.5 million km². The South Siberian Mountains are located in the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts of Russia, as well as partly in Mongolia. Glaciers
A glacier (; ) is a persistent body of dense ice that is constantly moving under its own weight. A glacier forms where the accumulation of snow exceeds its ablation over many years, often centuries. It acquires distinguishing features, such as crevasses and seracs, as it slowly flows and deforms under stresses induced by its weight. As it moves, it abrades rock and debris from its substrate to create landforms such as cirques, moraines, or fjords. Belki (russian: белки; kjh, Taskhyl), also known as Belogorye (russian: белогорье), is a type of mountain summit in Southern Siberia. The ''Great Soviet Encyclopedia'' (GSE; ) is one of the largest Russian-language encyclopedias, published in the Soviet Union from 1926 to 1990. After 2002, the encyclopedia's data was partially included into the later ''Bolshaya rossiyskaya entsiklopediya'' (or '' Great Russian Encyclopedia'') in an updated and revised form. The GSE claimed to be "the first Marxist–Leninist general-purpose encyclopedia". Maasheybash
Maasheybash (russian: link=no, Маашейбаш) is a mountain in the Altai Republic, Russia. At it is the highest summit in the Northern Chuya Range, part of the Chuya Belki, Altai Mountains, South Siberian System. The Saylyugemsky National Park is a protected area located about to the west of the mountain in a straight line. Description Maasheybash is a high ultra-prominent mountain. Other sources give a height of . Located in the area of Kosh-Agachsky District, it is one of the highest peaks of the Altai Mountains.
